At this year’s SHOT Show we caught up with the guys at Florida-based Adams Arms, known for their piston driven ARs and the AA-19 (literally the most expensive pistol Hop has ever reviewed over at TFBTV).
Adams Arms ran us their their newest products with some interesting things in the pipeline. First up was their new 7.62x39mm P1. The chambering means the new rifle has some geometry changes to its gas piston system and will ship with 7.62x39mm Duramags. Adams Arms hope to have the 7.62×39 P1 ready by May and the rife is currently under going the last of its pre-production testing. While MSRP isn’t solid yet Adams Arms are hoping to have it in the ballpark of $1,000. A P2 version is also in the pipeline with an MLOK forend and ambi controls.
Also at SHOT were Adams Arms’ new ambidextrous lower. This will become standard for the company’s P2 rifles. New stocks are also on the way but they weren’t quite ready for SHOT. The new lower will feature a new pistol grip and Adams Arms are moving away from polymer back up iron sights to newly designed steel ones. The new lower and these new features will be ready to ship in Q1 of this year and will have an MSRP of $1,500.
Some new Retrofit Kits are also in the works with a new DI conversion which uses an internalised piston which doesn;t require indexing with the barrel nut – ideal for rifles with non-standard side barrel nuts. Adams Arms expect those to be ready for Q3 of this year.
