One of the goals of TFB’s Photo Of The Day is to share treasures from the world of firearms, while giving credit to the photographer. Today I think Holt Works Photography really managed to capture the “lifestyle” in the image above. We see a Mossberg Patriot .308 Win bolt-action rifle with a Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8×24 scope. There are more details about the build below.
Custom 16” @mossbergcorp Patriot 308 has been an awesome lightweight bolt gun that I can throw on the 4 wheeler or back of the truck.
@class_3_machining barrel chop and thread
@talley_rings picatinny rail
@vortexoptics Strike Eagle 1-8×24 abd and rings
@rearden_mfg RPB muzzle brake
@blueforcegear Hunter sling
@class_3_machining killed it with this tricky chop and thread on the @mossbergcorp Patriot Walnut .308
With the super light fluted barrel contour we didn’t have enough material for a 5/8-24 thread. Morgan cut it down to 16” and turned a 1/2-28 thread perfectly concentric to the bore.
I grabbed a @rearden_mfg RPB muzzle brake in 1/2-28 but with a .375” bore for the 308. This allows me to run a @diligentdefenseco Enticer S with a Rearden Atlas mount.
@class_3_machining does incredible work with super fast turn around (currently about a week) and the lowest price that I’ve paid to date.
My @mossbergcorp Patriot 308 guide gun is ready to go!!
