The Gateway Pundit previously reported in May that Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt, along with Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry, filed a lawsuit (Missouri v. Biden) against the Biden Administration, including Biden himself, Anthony Fauci, the Department of Homeland Security, and nearly a dozen federal agencies and Secretaries.
The suit alleges a massive coordinated effort by the Deep State (permanent administrative state) to work with Big Tech to censor and manipulate Americans – from average citizens to news outlets – on issues including the Hunter Biden Laptop from Hell, 2020 Election Integrity, COVID-19 origin and extent skepticism, COVID-19 vaccine skepticism, among other issues.
Here’s a copy of the First Amended Complaint.
In June, The Gateway Pundit began assisting Missouri AG Schmitt’s team and providing critical evidence of Facebook and Twitter censorship of the Gateway Pundit on all of these issues.
This evidence from The Gateway Pundit was submitted to the Louisiana Federal Court. See it here:
Jim Hoft and The Gateway Pu… by Jim Hoft
The case reached a CRUCIAL turning point in July when AG Schmitt and his team won a huge victory.
They persuaded the federal judge to grant them limited discovery (investigatory powers) BEFORE the Court.
The Gateway Pundit wrote about the development here.
This allowed AG Schmitt to compel the government AND FACEBOOK AND TWITTER and a few other social media platforms to turn over documents and communications exchanged between the government and the social media platforms, in which censorship was discussed.
In August, we reported that TGP’s Jim Hoft himself became the lead non-governmental plaintiff in the lawsuit against the government.
Since then, AG Schmitt’s team has been engaged in a slug-fest with the government and Big Tech to turn over the demanded documents.
Neither the government nor Big Tech wants to disclose the damning evidence against them and they’ve fought like hell to stop the disclosure.
Since that time, numerous government officials including Dr. Tony Fauci have been deposed and testified in the case.
And former Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmidt became a sitting US Senator from Missouri. The new Missouri AG Andrew Bailey took over when Eric Schmidt left the office.
Terry A. Doughty, the chief U.S. district judge in the Western District of Louisiana, is overseeing the case. The government is obviously very concerned about this case as it proceeds.
On Saturday, The New York Times reported on the lawsuit in an extensive report by Steven Lee Myers.
Myers titled his piece, “Free Speech vs. Disinformation Comes to a Head.” What the NY Times means by disinformation is accurate reporting of facts that they disagree with. It’s typical of tactics used by any other repressive regime in the past.
The NY Times writes:
The case is being heard by Terry A. Doughty, the chief U.S. district judge in the Western District of Louisiana. The court, according to a report late last year by Bloomberg Law, has become a favored venue for conservative attorneys general challenging the Biden administration.
Judge Doughty, appointed by Mr. Trump in 2017, has previously blocked the Biden administration’s national vaccination mandate for health care workers and overturned its ban on new federal leases for oil and gas drilling. In this case, he has granted the plaintiffs’ request for extensive discovery even before considering their request for a preliminary injunction…
…The lawsuit aims at only the government, not the technology companies themselves. It names dozens of officials in 11 agencies, including the Department of Health and Human Services, the State Department, the F.B.I. and the Census Bureau…
…In addition to the States of Missouri and Louisiana, the plaintiffs include two prominent epidemiologists who questioned the government’s handling of the pandemic, Dr. Jayanta Bhattacharya and Martin Kulldorff; Dr. Aaron Kheriaty, a psychiatry professor dismissed by the University of California, Irvine, for refusing to have a Covid vaccination; Jill Hines, a director of Health Freedom Louisiana, an organization that has been accused of disinformation; and Jim Hoft, the founder of Gateway Pundit, a right-wing news site that claims in its promotions that “for 15 years, we’ve been fighting Big Tech and Leftists who want to shut us down.”
Jenin Younes, a lawyer with the New Civil Liberties Alliance, an organization representing the individual plaintiffs, said the government had sought to sidestep free-speech rights by forcing private companies to take action on discourse that is otherwise constitutionally protected.
“It can’t use third parties to do what it can’t do,” she said in an interview in the organization’s Washington office.
Judge Doughty is expected to rule on this case in the coming weeks. This has the government-big tech censorship machine very concerned.
