Idaho Quadruple Murders Suspect Bryan Kohberger is a Hardcore Vegan with ‘OCD Eating Tendencies’

Bryan Kohberger

The FBI and Pennsylvania State Police early Friday morning arrested Bryan Kohberger and charged him with four counts of first-degree murder in connection with the fatal stabbings of four University of Idaho students.

Kohberger was arrested in Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains at 3 am and is currently being held without bond awaiting extradition to Idaho.

Kohberger is suspected of fatally stabbing 20-year-old Ethan Chapin of Conway, Washington; 21-year-old Madison Mogen of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; 20-year-old Xana Kernodle of Avondale, Arizona; and 21-year-old Kaylee Goncalves of Rathdrum, Idaho on November 13.

According to reports, Kohberger is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology at Washington State University in Pullman, Washington.

Not much is known about the case since the probable cause affidavit is still under seal while Kohberger awaits extradition to Idaho.

However, friends and family members have come forward and provided some information on the suspected killer following his arrest.

According to a family member, Kohberger was a hardcore vegan with bizarre ‘OCD’ eating habits.

The family member told the New York Post that Kohberger was so far into veganism that he once forced his aunt and uncle to buy new pots and pans because he wouldn’t eat from anything that ever touched meat.

The New York Post reported:

The suspect in the stabbing deaths of four University of Idaho students worried his family with his bizarre eating habits, according to a relative.

Speaking exclusively to The Post Friday afternoon, a former aunt of Bryan Kohberger said his dietary restrictions were “very, very weird.”

“It was above and beyond being vegan,” said the aunt, who declined to be identified but said she was previously married into the family.

“His aunt and uncle had to buy new pots and pans because he would not eat from anything that had ever had meat cooked in them. He seemed very OCD [obsessive-compulsive disorder].”

Latah County prosecutor Bill Thompson on Friday said he cannot disclose any information about the case until Khoberger appears in a court in Idaho.

Bill Thompson cautioned that the extradition process could take some time and asked the public to be patient as the legal process plays out.
