HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP? Divers Delight or Ghastly Sight?

Welcome everyone to the 168th edition of ‘Hot Gat or Fudd Crap?’, one of our many series here on TFB. If you’re new to the series, this is where we look at the most obscure firearms that are actually for sale and ask the question – is this Gat a sweet deal or only has a Fudd appeal?  Each week the TFB staff weighs in with their thoughts, but readers get the final say in the poll at the bottom of each article.

In our last edition, our poll showed that you, the readers, decided the red white and blue Mossberg Shockwave was fudd crap.

At this time the original auction has ended, but not to worry as the Meriflage Shockwave has already been relisted with a current bid of $53 and No Reserve.  For those of you who thought this was a hot gat, this is your time to snag this “I’m not a communist!” classic and add it to your collection.  To that end, we wish you the best of luck and happy bidding.

In this week’s edition of HGFC, we look at a diving-themed Glock G29 chambered in 10mm. As is tradition, this gat of the seas is currently up for sale on GunBroker for $1,798 with No Reserve.

This might be the first themed gun in the series that has an actual explanation as to why it was created.  Most of the time when we see themed guns, I’m forced to wonder things like “Did your parents not love you enough as a kid?” or “Are you okay?”.  To that end, knowing this was made for a diving enthusiast is a more interesting story.

The Glock G29 has a very particular fanbase.  I’m not even sure everyone who thinks 10mm is the best millimeter would carry a Glock G29.  Its small size means you don’t have a lot of grip area (I believe one company refers to this as a “grip zone”).  Between the small size and larger caliber, the G29 is not for the faint of heart.

Between the wild theme and the high price tag, I think this is going to be a tricky gun to sell.  The engraving work is wonderfully done, but does that warrant a price tag of a shade under $2k?  As always, I leave it up to you, the readers, to decide.
