CEO of Twitter Elon Musk broke his silence regarding his opinion on who should be the next Speaker of the House.
In a tweet, Musk wrote simply “Kevin McCarthy should be Speaker.”
Musk’s tweet came after the House of Representatives held 6 voting sessions where in all six sessions McCarthy failed to reach the 218 votes needed to be the next Speaker of the House.
Here’s the tweet:

Elon’s suppprt for an establishmnet politician such as McCarthy comes as a surprise considering in recent years Musk has been calling out career politicans.
McCarthy’s fondness for electric vehicles however, could have been the leading factor for Musk to throw his support behind McCarthy.
In 2019 while serving as the House Minority Leader, McCarthy blocked a bipartisan bill that would limit Chinese companies from having major contracts within the U.S. transit systems.
The move benefited the Chinese owned electric bus company BYD which is based in McCarthy’s district.
In April of 2022, Elon Musk spoke at retreat hosted by McCarthy in Wyoming.
Ten years before Musk made an appearance at McCarthy’s retreat in Wyoming, McCarthy posted a photo of the two together on Twitter.
