The Daily Mail reported:
Cops investigating the mysterious death of Miss Alabama Zoe Sozo Bethel believe she tried to commit suicide by leaping off a Miami condo, DailyMail.com can exclusively reveal.
The beauty queen, 27, was in a coma for more than a week after suffering devastating brain injuries when she fell from a seven-story residential building in the waterfront Edgewater neighborhood.
Family members announced last Friday that Bethel, who has a daughter, had succumbed to injuries suffered in the unspecified February 10 ‘accident’ without divulging further details.
But a spokesman for the Miami Police Department confirmed the fatal incident was treated as an attempted suicide.
Homicide detectives were assigned to investigate, however it’s standard practice for them to probe suicides as well as murders and unsolved deaths.
Family members announced last week Bethel died after succumbing to her injuries from an ‘accident.’
“On Friday, February 18, 2022, at approximately 5:30AM Eastern time in Miami, Florida, our beloved Zoe Sozo Bethel passed from this life into the next as a result of succumbing to her injuries,” Bethel’s family wrote in an Instagram post.
“Zoe had an accident Thursday night, February 10th, & sustained severe damage to her brain/brainstem & is in a coma,” the family said.
A few weeks ago former Miss USA Cheslie Kryst jumped to her death from the 29th floor of a 60-story high-rise building in New York City.
