Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton on Monday fired back at Merrick Garland’s latest lawsuit against the state.
The Justice Department on Monday sued Texas over its redistricting plans that ‘deny the rights of Latino and Black voters on account of their race.’
US Attorney General Merrick Garland said the maps violate the Voting Rights Act.
“The department’s career voting law experts have assessed Texas’s new redistricting plans and determined that they include districts that violate the Voting Rights Act,” Attorney General Merrick Garland said at a presser.
Attorney General Ken Paxton hit back and vowed to fight Biden’s DOJ.
“The Department of Justice’s absurd lawsuit against our state is the Biden Administration’s latest ploy to control Texas voters. I am confident that our legislature’s redistricting decisions will be proven lawful, and this preposterous attempt to sway democracy will fail.”
I’m certain Texas will prevail! #redistricting https://t.co/G2FBrAyiLj

Ken Paxton is a fighter and a hero.
Paxton has a stellar record defending election integrity from cheating Democrats.
The Texas Attorney General also successfully sued the Biden Admin over its unlawful OSHA vax mandate.
Yesterday, I sued the Biden Admin over its unlawful OSHA vax mandate.
WE WON. Just this morning, citing “grave statutory and constitutional issues,” the 5th Circuit stayed the mandate. The fight is not over and I will never stop resisting this Admin’s unconstitutional overreach! https://t.co/Vbez0HL9t5
