Quadruple murder suspect Bryan Kohberger arrives in Idaho court
Bryan Kohberger, the man accused of fatally stabbing four University of Idaho students in November, reportedly messaged one of the female victims on Instagram two weeks before the murders.
Bryan Kohberger, 28, is accused of fatally stabbing 20-year-old Ethan Chapin of Conway, Washington; 21-year-old Madison Mogen of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; 20-year-old Xana Kernodle of Avondale, Arizona; and 21-year-old Kaylee Goncalves of Rathdrum, Idaho on November 13.
The killer murdered the victims around 4:17 am (between 4:00 and 4:25) based on testimony from one of the surviving roommates.

According to an investigator, Kohberger repeatedly messaged one of the victims on Instagram – and his messages went unanswered.
“He slid into one of the girls’ DMs several times, but she didn’t respond,” an investigator told People. “Basically, it was just him saying, ‘Hey, how are you?’ But he did it again and again.”
“Authorities remain tight-lipped about the alleged motive in the attack. They have not publicly discussed the relationship between Kohberger and the victims. Kohberger’s now-deleted Instagram account — which was viewed by PEOPLE before it was removed — followed the accounts of Mogen, Gonclaves and Kernodle, but there was no public interaction.” PEOPLE reported.
The investigator told People the victim may not have seen the messages from Kohberger because they went into “message requests.”
It is unclear if the victims even knew of Bryan Kohberger’s existence.
Kaylee Goncavles’ parents told ABC News 2020 Investigates that their daughter said she was being stalked and felt like someone was following her around.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Bryan Kohberger’s phone pinged near the victim’ home at least 12 times between June 2022 to December – nearly all visits to the area were late at night or super early morning hours (evidence of possible stalking/surveilling).
Kohberger has been described as a vegan oddball who was bullied – and in turn bullied others.
