HORROR: 22-Year-Old Dollar Tree Employee Hacked to Death by Man with Machete

Ohio – A beautiful 22-year-old newlywed was hacked to death by a monster wielding a machete inside an Upper Sandusky Dollar Tree store.

Keris Riebel was working as a cashier at the Dollar Tree on New Year’s Day when Bethel Bekele, 27, entered the store and struck her several times with a machete.

Riebel, a recent college graduate, just got married in October and was described by a family member as “an amazing, kind and sweet young woman who lit up the world with her smile.”

“Little is known right now about Bekele. He’s got no apparent criminal record and police are still investigating the relationship between Bekele and Riebel.” WSYX reported.

The machete was found at the crime scene.

Bethel Bekele (possible immigrant?) was arrested and charged with one count of murder.

This is the first murder in Upper Sandusky in more than 20 years.

WSYX reported:

A Dollar Tree employee in Northwest Ohio is dead after being murdered with a machete while working on Sunday.

The incident happened just before 4:30 p.m. EST on New Year’s Day.

Police said they were called to the store after a man was spotted waving a machete around inside the store.

Officers arrived and found a cashier, identified as 22-year-old Keris L. Riebel, dead.

Authorities charged 27-year-old Bethel M. Bekele in connection with the attack.

The police chief said Bekele drove to the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office afterward. That’s when deputies approached his car and he surrendered to them.

Bekele had an address in Upper Sandusky at an apartment complex. Neighbors recognized his face, but knew nothing about him, including his name.

Bekele is being held at the Wood County jail in Bowling Green. The police chief in Upper Sandusky said the Wyandot County jail did not have the available bed space for him. He is charged with one count of murder. His court date has not been set.

A GoFundMe was set up to cover Keris Riebel’s funeral expenses.
