Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene blasted the Justice Department and the “two-tiered justice system” that readily targets Republicans but refuses to prosecute the high-level Democrat staffer who was repeatedly caught on camera vandalizing her office.
The American people can no longer trust the justice system, Greene warned in a speech on the House floor on Tuesday.
“In order to have a justice system that is fair and good and one that the American people can trust, it should be a justice system that prosecutes crime, just because it’s a crime, not based on a political party; not based on does it match up with the ideas or policies they agree with or the president that’s in the White House or whoever is speaker of the House or whoever is in leadership,” the Georgia congresswoman scolded. “It should matter that it’s a crime and they should prosecute these crimes. But unfortunately, that’s not happening.”
WATCH:
As the Gateway Pundit reported, surveillance footage shows Timothy Hysom, Massachusetts Democrat Rep. Jake Auchincloss’ chief of staff defacing a posters outside of Green’s office on March 10, including one that read “There are only two genders, male and female.”
Hysom, who previously worked for Rep. Adam Schiff, plastered the walls outside of Greene’s office with bizarre signs mocking Christianity, including flyers containing Bible verses and pictures of Jesus.
One of the fliers depicting Jesus included the caption, “I never knew you, MTG. Love (heart) God. Matthew 7:21 – 13.”
After Hysom defaced Greene’s office property, a department-wide “be on look out” was issued around the Capitol and Capitol Hill Police confronted the Democrat staffer.
While law enforcement officials were on alert for the suspect, Auchincloss’ chief of staff proceeded to deface more posters outside of Greene’s office.
He crept around Greene’s office and plastered another ominous sign on the wall, which warned, “True Disciples of Christ don’t say the things you say, act the way you act, and treat people the way you treat people.”
Minutes later, Hysom was confronted by Capitol Hill Police.
“On Friday, March 11, 2022, based of the BOLO, the defendant was stopped by officers in the LHOB approximately 6:10 PM and identified as HYSOM Timothy,” an a police report states.
The report also shows Hysom admitted to defacing seven posters outside Greene’s office in the Longworth House Office Building between January and March and police installed security cameras after the first five incidents.
“Based on the aforementioned, it is your affiant’s belief that defendant, Timothy Duane Hysom…did violate DC Code § 22-3312.01 Defacing Public or Private Property,” the document states.
Despite being caught on camera vandalizing the federal lawmaker’s office property, Hysom was not charged after he was confronted by Capitol Hill Police.
The U.S. attorney’s office, which is leading the prosecution against January 6 defendants told Greene’s office that it declined prosecution against Hysom because it “did not believe a federal judge would allow the case to proceed,” Just The News reports.
Clearly, the Department of Justice does not prosecute Democrats, but they will throw the book at Republicans and conservatives.
Green said she fears for her safety after harassment while the Democrat staffer who has yet to be terminated as law enforcement officials turn a blind eye.
“This is a man that I don’t know. He doesn’t know me. I didn’t know who he was until a few weeks ago. For a time, I had been in my office building many times late at night. But I don’t go there by myself anymore because of this man right here. I don’t know if he is one of the death threats that has called my office. I don’t know if he is one of the people that mail-in disgusting, horrible things to me in my office. I don’t know what else he would do because he feels he’s above the law and beyond reproach,” she said. “I also don’t understand why his boss, Rep. Jake Austincloss, still has him employed because I’ll tell you right now if anyone in my office — if any of my staff — were to do what he has been doing to another member of Congress, they would be fired. And my staff would never do it.
Greene called attention to an incident in 2017 when Hysom chased down and called for the arrest of a man who tore down a gay pride flag standing in Rep. Adam Lowenthal’s office, where Hysom previously worked as chief of staff. The man was arrested and Lowenthal’s staff pressed charges.
“Capitol Police briefly detained the man but decided that he had not broken any laws or rules. They later changed their tune and told Lowenthal’s staff that there were laws that had been broken. But by that time it was too late: the man was gone,” Hysom told Metro Weekly following the showdown.
“This isn’t like a low-level staffer. This isn’t an intern. This is a chief of staff that’s had quite a career here, working in this institution who knows better,” Green continued. “Tim Hysom, the chief of staff at Jake Auchincloss’ office who has been harassing me, was so offended at that action that he and the other staff chased that man down the hall. They wanted the Capitol Police to arrest him and prosecute him. They wanted him prosecuted. But yet, Tim Hysom, chief of staff for Jake Austincloss, feels he is completely above the law and he feels and says that my sign saying there are only two genders male and female — he says it’s a statement of ‘hate’ and therefore he’s entitled to attacking me for it. That is complete hypocrisy.
“Why is my belief under attack? Why is Christianity under attack? Why is my belief in defending women and girls’ privacy rights and sports — why is that wrong, but yet it’s okay for him to defend the pride flag and be angered and upset and want to arrest and prosecute someone when they attack it? Two-tiered justice system.
Auchincloss’ spokesperson Matt Corridoni issued a statement justifying Hysom’s criminal activity, arguing Greene’s claiming that there are only two genders is “bullying.”
“It is certainly not part of a ‘Members’ Representational Duties’ to print signs – at taxpayers’ expense – whose sole purpose is to bully and intimidate the Member across the hall from you,” Corridoni said. “While the Capitol Police were obligated to pass along Rep. Greene’s accusation of ‘destruction of public property to the U.S. Attorney’s office, they have set aside the charges and have declined to prosecute such a ridiculous accusation.”
Auchincloss’ staff was also involved in checking several CBS employees who work for Stephen Colbert’s late-night show into the Longworth building last Thursday night.
The crew was escorted out of the Capitol by security for entering without proper press credentials earlier in the day but reentered later in the evening.
As the Gateway Pundit reported, the CBS employees harassed Republican lawmakers as they wandered around the federal building after hour while harassing Republican lawmakers and mocking the families of the January 6 prisoners, who have been held in prison for over a year without a trial.
