Over two dozen illegal aliens dressed in military style camouflage were caught entering Texas from Mexico, according to Fox News reporter Bill Melugin who posted a wild Texas DPS video of the migrants attempting to flee capture. Thirty-two migrants were caught by Border Patrol agents and Texas Department of Public Safety officers in a recent joint effort. Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-TX), whose district includes Big Bend, says the cartels usually make those crossing there pass a five day desert survival course before sending them over from Mexico. As if to make the point, the body of a young woman migrant from Honduras who succumbed to the harsh environment was found during the operation.
The migrants are seen on video running through a ranch in the Big Bend sector in West Texas as a Texas DPS helicopter flushes them out from a grove of trees into open terrain.
The Border Patrol’s chief of the Big Bend Sector Sean McGoffin posted a brief report Saturday that featured the capture of the camo-dressed migrants, “Past 24 Hours….-Alpine Border Patrol intercepted TWO vehicle smuggling attempts. -Van Horn Border Patrol apprehended a large group of 32. -Van Horn Border Patrol found over 200 pounds of abandoned marijuana. -Sierra Blanca Border Patrol apprehended a large group of 28.”
Melugin reported from the Big Bend sector last week.
“NEW: While we were embedded with @TxDPS in the remote Big Bend sector in west TX, within a one hour span, we encountered five drug smugglers, 9 bundles of drugs in two separate busts, and the body of a 28-year-old deceased Honduran woman who sadly died in the elements.”
Rep. Gonzales commented last week on Fox’s reporting, “Of all the border sectors I have always believed future terrorist would transit through the Big Bend sector. Illegal migrants here are dressed in camo from head to toe, often have to pass a 5 day desert survival course offered by the cartels prior to starting their trek.”
