Devon Nunes, CEO of Trump Media and Technology Group, joined Newsmax to discuss the Twitter files and the federal government’s efforts to suppress free speech as well as their efforts to defend their behavior.
Nunes:
So, I look at this….a couple major points here…one, we don’t have all the files yet, we only have what a few reporters have went went through.
President Trump and I, here at Truth Social, we’ve been very, very supportive of Elon Musk ultimately being Twitter and pushing all of this information out to the public.
I think it is going to be key going into the next year, and you talk about that we’re winning. Well look, to continue to win and really use that Republican majority that the American people have rewarded the Republicans with, they’re going to need to subpoena all of these documents wand really get to the bottom of who….who was the command and control here. Who was telling who to do what, at the FBI to take away our First Amendment rights.
And then secondly….and you know Twitter is just the, no pun intended, kind of the canary in the coal mine because as you well know and your audience knows, Facebook and Instagram are the big boys on the block, where you have well over 100, maybe 200 million Americans that have either an Instagram or Facebook account, so I’d really like to know what’s happening at Facebook, and I think that’s another issue the Republicans will be able to get into. And it terms of kind of, to be blunt on the Covid stuff here,…is this any surprise? I mean Dr. Malone was booted off the platform, off of Twitter and Facebook and everywhere.
You had, and remember Scott Atlas was brought into the Trump Administration, Stanford Professor….very…vert well known, very liked, until he started raising questions about Covid. So the fact that the FBI, the DOJ, the Biden Administration would weigh in and Twitter would do this, and take away people’s First Amendment Rights, I think there is a lot more to come here.
The FBI issued a statement last week trying to defend itself saying in part, ‘The correspondence between the FBI and Twitter show nothing more than examples of our traditional, longstanding, and ongoing federal government and private sector engagements, which involve numerous companies over multiple sectors and industries.”
“It is unfortunate that conspiracy theorists and others are feeding the American public misinformation with the sole purpose of attempting to discredit the agency.”
Responding to the FBI’s statement Nunes said:
That was one of the more brazen statements and preposterous statements that I have seen out of anyone in the United States government for a very long time. I mean look, we don’t have to go through the whole litany of how the FBI has discredited themself, but mainly let’s go back to ’15 and ’16 when they started the Russia hoax working with the Democrats, let’s just start there, and then refuse to clean up their mess. So this is….and now you catch them, you catch the back and forth between…I mean these are emails. This isn’t something that Matt Tabbi make up, or Elon Musk. Nobody made this up.
DOJ and FBI would always say the right things but look, this has gone on so far that they don’t even realize or care about how deep their corruption goes, right? They’re like “Hey, screw you, we’re going to raid Mar-a-Lago” and then the next day they are like “Hey, you know what? President Trump is going to run again for president? Guess what we’re going to do…we are going to appoint another special counsel…it’s not enough that we illegally spied on Trump, Trump campaign, Republicans….” Hell we even found out last week that hey spied on me and my office when I was conducting the investigation.
They are going to rue the day….that statement the FBI put out, I guarantee you, will live in infamy forever and it will be a stain on the Department of Justice from here on out. Because you just called millions, tens of millions of Americans who have had their heads out of their…let’s just say out of the sand…for the last five years.
We’re not that stupid DOJ…we know what you’re doing and there’s tens of millions of Americans who aren’t going to buy it.
