Day Before J6 Committee Hearing, FBI Agents Stage Pre-Dawn Raid on Home of Trump DOJ Official Jeffrey Clark–Forced into Street in His Pajamas

Former Trump Department of Justice official Jeffrey Clark had his Virginia home raided by FBI agents early Wednesday morning where agents would not let him get dressed, instead forcing him out in the street in his pajamas while they ransacked his home. Clark, who was the former acting head of the Civil Division in 2020 and was considered by Trump to replace William Barr as Attorney General, is being investigated by the January 6 Committee and now the Justice Department for his role in President Trump’s legal efforts to stop the steal of the 2020 presidential election. Clark was the target of Today’s hearing.

ABC’s Ben Siegel, “ABC: Federal agents raided the home of ex-Trump DOJ official Jeffrey Clark Wednesday morning. Clark worked w/ Trump on a plan to replace the acting attorney general & pressure GA legislators to overturn Biden’s victory.”

NPR reported a statement by the office of the U.S. Attorney for D.C.:

“The U.S. Attorney’s office in Washington D.C. confirmed “there was law enforcement activity” in an area near the address where Clark resides, according to a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney. “We have no comment regarding the nature of that activity or any particular individual.”

Former Trump OMB Director Russ Vought gave the dirty details on the pre-dawn raid, “The new era of criminalizing politics is worsening in the US. Yesterday more than a dozen DOJ law enforcement officials searched Jeff Clark’s house in a pre dawn raid, put him in the streets in his pjs, and took his electronic devices. 1/2…All because Jeff saw fit to investigate voter fraud. This is not America, folks. The weaponization of govt must end. Let me be very clear. We stand by Jeff and so must all patriots in this country. 2/2” (Vought is now president of the Center for Renewing America where Jeffrey Clark is a Fellow.)

Before the raid was reported, NBC News posted a Ryan J. Reilly article on Clark, “The guy who Donald Trump wanted to make the acting attorney general of the United States of America is now a Truth Social user, Revolver News author, 2000 Mules fan, Gateway Pundit promoter, and Steve Bannon guest.”

Excerpt:

Most Americans don’t know Jeffrey Clark — the environmental lawyer whom former President Donald Trump wanted to take over the Justice Department to aid his effort to overturn the 2020 election.

But the House Jan. 6 committee hopes its Thursday hearing might change that.

Clark took a pretty standard path for a conservative lawyer: Harvard University, Georgetown Law, clerk for Ronald Reagan-appointed federal appeals Judge Danny Julian Boggs and a partnership at the law firm Kirkland & Ellis, with a stint in the Justice Department’s environmental division during George W. Bush’s administration. His unusually long Justice Department biography even included, for some reason, details about his elementary school.

…Clark has continued to be a presence in MAGA world. He has an account with a few hundred followers on Truth Social, Trump’s social media platform, where his Trump-mimicking handle is @RealJeffClark.

He has said the Jan. 6 committee is “power drunk and unconstitutional,” and he has shared stories from the conspiracy website Gateway Pundit, including a story about the debunked propaganda movie “2000 Mules.” He has written for the conspiracy website Revolver News about what he described as efforts to “Kill All the Trump Lawyers — By Canceling Them.” He’s making appearances on Steve Bannon’s “War Room” podcast. And he’s trying to raise money, telling would-be donors that he has “been targeted for cancellation by the hyper-partisan January 6 Committee, the ‘mainstream’ media, and a collection of leftist law professors and supposed ‘Republicans’ who are conveniently never-Trumpers.”
