The Christian organization “He Gets Us” reportedly spent up to $20 million dollars for two Super Bowl ads that depicted Jesus being compassionate for all people no matter where they stand politically.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, however, was not a fan of the Jesus ad that was aired during Super Bowl 57.
Shortly after the Super Bowl ad aired, AOC tweeted “Something tells me Jesus would *not* spend millions of dollars on Super Bowl ads to make fascism look benign.”

AOC would proceed to like a tweet that claimed the company behind the ad is “funding the right’s efforts to ban abortion and allow businesses to discriminate against the LGBTQ+.”
The ad AOC claimed was fascist showed dozens of black and white images of people having conflict over lockdowns, politics, and more.
At the end of the ad it showed the words “Jesus loved the people we hate.”
He Gets Us paid for the advertising space in order to get more viewers for their website that includes Bible devotionals, teachings about Jesus, and a chat line.

Some conservative voices didn’t think the commercial was fascist at all but did believe it catered to liberal ideology.
