Ashland, Massachusetts – Dr. Jacquelyn Starer, 68, was arrested shortly before Christmas for assaulting a police officer during the January 6 Capitol protest.
According to the criminal complaint filed in DC, Starer illegally entered the Capitol through the East Rotunda Doors.
Bodycam footage provided by Metro PD showed Starer strike an officer shortly after 3:00 PM.
Dr. Starer was released on conditions.
She cannot leave the state of Massachusetts without notifying authorities.
Starer made her first court appearance ‘virtually’ on Tuesday.

A Massachusetts doctor was arrested Tuesday on felony charges, including assaulting a law enforcement officer, for her actions during the breach of the U.S. Capitol nearly two years ago.
Dr. Jacquelyn Starer, 68, of Ashland, is charged with civil disorder, a felony; assaulting, resisting or impeding certain officers; entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds; disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds; and engaging in physical violence in a restricted building or grounds.
According to court documents, on Jan. 6, 2021, Starer illegally entered Capitol grounds and the building through the East Rotunda doors.
Video from body-worn cameras worn by Metropolitan Police Department officers shows Starer approach MPD officers and make contact with an MPD officer at approximately 2:59 p.m. Shortly thereafter, Starer struck an officer, officials allege.
A tipster told officials that Starer bragged to a mutual acquaintance that she was “prepared” for the march on the Capitol with a mesh knife-proof shirt and bottles of pepper spray, according to the charging documents.
