M81 Woodland camouflage is almost universally loved by most people within the firearms industry and for good reason – the camouflage was used extensively for over 30 years and used to be the easiest type of surplus camouflage you could get from stores. So for those of you who still rock those M81 Woodland BDUs when you’re training, Safariland has just announced the addition of their new exclusive M81 Woodland Camo holster available for most of today’s modern compact and full-size handguns.
More from Safariland @ TFB:
In 1981 the United States Armed Forces adopted the first official Battle Dress Uniform. The camouflage chosen for the first BDUs was U.S. Woodland—a pattern well suited for use in dense forests of hardwoods and pines. M81 represents the end of an era.
Woodland marks the transition from Vietnam into the last days of the Soviet Union and the end of a Cold War. More than any other military pattern, Woodland represents that period before the War on Terror, and the new normal ushered in with the new millennium.
The new Safariland M81 Woodland holster will be available for the Glock models 17, 19, and 34, FN 509, SIG P320 Compact and Full Size, Staccato P DUO, and Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0 4.25″ and 5″ models. Current models available in the new M81 Woodland camouflage pattern include the 6354RDS – ALS as well as the 6304RDS – ALS/SLS holsters. Both holster options come with a QLS 19 Locking Fork for use with the belt-mounted QLS system. Both holsters will retail for $259.75 or less and are available to purchase directly from the Safariland website.
