The 2011 market continues to grow with a number of manufacturers unveiling new models at SHOT Show 2023. Amongst them is a new series of pistols from Caracal USA. The Idaho based arm of Caracal has introduced a line of new 2011 pistols including a tricked out, dedicated race gun.
The new pistols are aimed at the growing market for 2011 competition shooters. The Caracal 2011’s will be chambered in 9x9mm, .38 Super and .40 Smith & Wesson. We handled each of the models and found that the build quality was good with very smooth actions. Caracal told us that the guns’ parts are manufactured in Italy.
Caracal will be launching the line in March, with MSRP ranging from $4,400 to $5,500 – the 5 inch pistol will price at $4,500, while the flat dark earth 4 inch comes in at $4,600 and the 5 inch race pistol has an MSRP of $5,500.
While Caracal were able to showcase their new 2011 pistol at SHOT 2023, their new pistol caliber carbines didn’t arrive in time to feature. Caracal will be releasing the CMP-9 in the US as a semi automatic pistol caliber carbine, its is based on the submachine gun of the same name which is offered by Caracal USA’s parent company.
Caracal describe the CMP-9 as a “modern and modular weapon operating on advanced blow-back system”, interestingly, its bolt extends over the barrel to aid in weapon balance. It’s unclear which variants of the CMP-9 will be offered in the US but there are various configurations with folding or collapsing stocks and different barrel lengths.
