Safariland is extending its family of rifle-rated hard armor plates to include three new offerings specifically designed to be more comfortable and fitted to the female physique. Safariland’s new DT206CF will be the first NIJ Level III plate of its kind specifically fitted to the female form. In addition, Safariland will also be releasing two other non-certified rifle-rated plates with its new Model X-CAL DT CF1 and IMPAC CF1 which are both designed with first responders in mind.

New Rifle-Rated Plates for Women from Safariland

Safariland has expanded its rifle-rated family of Hard Armor plates to include three offerings for women. The Model DT206CF (NIJ Level III), along with non-certified variants, Model X-CALÔ DT CF1 and Model IMPACÔ CF1 have been designed with female first responders in mind and offer a unique radius of curvature to enhance fit and comfort. These plates have low profile capabilities and are compatible with the already available TAC PH Plate Harness. They have all been designed with high-performing ceramic, and polyethylene composites with 1000-denier Cordura® nylon covering that can withstand long-term wear.
“We seek to create the best products on the market for a wide array of customers,” said Safariland VP/GM of Armor Jim Duncan. “This plate family puts us one step closer to that goal. We have manufactured these plates with high-quality materials and put in the effort to ensure maximum comfort is available for all the female officers, first responders, and other body armor users.
Both the X-CAL DTCF1 and IMPAC CF1 non-NIJ certified plates weigh less than 3.5 lbs each and will be sold for $475 and $450 respectively. Meanwhile, the DT206CF will come with a Level III NIJ-certified rating and according to Safariland will be capable of stopping up to six impacts of 7.62x51mm nato 147 gr NATO M80 ball ammunition.
