[IWA 2023] Pulsar Krypton 2 – Upgraded Thermal Imaging Attachments

The IWA exhibition in Germany is usually where Pulsar release their thermal front attachments, and this year is no exception. There is a new flagship model called Krypton 2 FXG50 with a thermal sensor of 640×480 pixels @12 µm. According to Pulsar, this device can detect a standard 1.8 m tall object at an extra-long 2300-meter distance in complete darkness, which will be displayed on the full-HD multicolor 1920×1080 pixel screen.

There’s also a little brother called Krypton 2 FXQ35 with a 384×288 pixel 17 µm pixel pitch and NETD under 25 millikelvin. Both thermal sensors are made by Lynred in Europe.

To attach these thermals to your normal daytime riflescope, Pulsar has developed a new accessories line, which includes a set of four-point quick-release PSP-B bayonet ring adapters.

Yukon Advanced Optics Worldwide is pleased to announce the launch of its Krypton 2 thermal imaging front attachment line by Pulsar. It consists of two models: the Krypton 2 FXG50 and the Krypton 2 FXQ35. In addition, we present a new accessories line offering more variety of use of the clip on. The greatly upgraded and more compact Krypton 2 will debut at the IWA OutdoorClassics 2023 in Nuremberg, Germany.

High-definition imaging

The second-generation Krypton is more compact, lightweight, and fully adapted to the needs of the hunter. It features advanced image quality in full-HD multicolour mode and a high-quality European-made Lynred thermal imaging sensor that offers exceptionally crisp, sharp, and richly contrasted thermal imaging in all weather conditions.

The flagship model Krypton 2 FXG50 stands for a high sensor resolution of 640×480 pixels @12 µm. In combination with the powerful fast aperture F50/1.0 thermal lens it provides ultimate detection capabilities. A standard 1.8 m tall object can be detected at an extra-long 2300-meter distance even in complete darkness.

The more compact and lightweight Krypton 2 FXQ35 offers high sensor sensitivity with its 17 µm pixel pitch and NETD under 25 milliKelvin. Its sensor resolution is slightly lower – 384×288 pixel – compared to the FXG model.

To enhance the quality and comfort of observation for both Krypton 2 models, choose from a selection of three signal sensitivity amplification levels. In combination with fine brightness and contrast adjustments these offer great opportunities for long-range observation in diverse weather and temperature conditions.

Well-balanced design

The new Krypton 2 front attachment is more compact than the previous generation of Krypton. With its short length, lightweight and well-balanced design and uniform weight distribution, the attachment has minimal impact on the balance of the weapon-optics.

Its rugged magnesium alloy housing offers high structural strength, protecting the device from shocks and vibration loads. The Krypton 2 withstands recoil from high calibre rifles.

With both models in the Krypton 2 product line, you’ll be able to hunt for 11 hours with no need to replace the battery. The quick-release and wireless design of the rechargeable IPS7 Li-Ion battery pack is a supreme energy saver.

Moreover, we moved the battery compartment to the top of the device. This ensures point-of-impact stability and well-balanced weight distribution and allows the hunter to focus on quick target acquisition and shot placement in low-light environments. In other words, less stress, and more action!

Designed for your comfort

A new feature implemented in the Krypton 2 is the graphical user interface adaptation. The device menu and status bar positions are scaled by the user to a comfortable view when changing the magnification of the daytime riflescope. This ensures more comfort when acting in a significant range of magnifications, from 2x to 6x with the Krypton 2 FXG50 and from 1.5x to 4x with the Krypton 2 FXQ35.

To ensure full comfort of use, the new Krypton 2 comes with an ergonomic wireless Bluetooth remote control, which can be easily attached to the scope and mimics the control panel. The design, size and positioning of the buttons and encoder are customized for use with both bare and gloved hands.

Easy transformation with new line of accessories

We also introduce a new Pulsar accessories line, which includes a set of four-point quick-release PSP-B bayonet ring adaptors. These enable easy mounting and removal of the Krypton 2 from the riflescope. There are four different adapter models in the line-up. From the smallest, the PSP-30B, which is perfect for lots of movement on the field, to the PSP-42B, the PSP-50B, and the PSP-56B ring adapters.

The mount allows precise alignment of the attachment’s and riflescope’s field of view for optimal viewing comfort. The Krypton can be removed from one adapter and installed on another without special tools. It allows you to turn various daytime optics into thermal imaging optics quickly and easily. Observation becomes smooth, informative, and complete.

Another addition to the accessories line is the new Pulsar 3x20B compact monocular which enables turning the Krypton 2 into a 3x thermal imaging device in just a few seconds. The bayonet connection ensures that the Krypton 2 is quick and easy to transform from a front attachment to a thermal imaging monocular and back in the field.

Uncover interactive possibilities

When it comes to filming or taking photos of once-in-a-lifetime experiences, another great asset of the Krypton 2 is the built-in video recorder. One press of a button captures footage that can be shared easily with friends. And 16 GB of internal memory provides you with many hours of recorded files.

You can connect your Krypton 2 with Android or iOS smartphones and tablets with the help of our free Stream Vision 2 mobile application. In combination with the smartphones, Krypton 2 offers a set of unique features such as live image streaming to your smartphone, motion detection, transfer and sharing of multimedia files, firmware updates, remote control of the device and much more.

The Krypton 2 will be available from Q1 2023. We don’t have any information about the price yet.

Pulsar is at IWA OutdoorClassics 2023, hall 4A-100, where you can get a first-hand experience of the new Krypton 2 thermal imaging front attachment line.
