Faxon Firearms have announced a new line of lightweight AR-15 receiver sets dubbed X-Tra Lite. These receivers are based on the Faxon’s forged AR-15 receivers and are also made of 7075-T6 aluminum, however, thanks to the deleted forward assist, lightening relief cuts and skeletonized magazine well and top Picatinny rail, the X-Tra Lite receiver sets are two ounces lighter than their regular counterparts.

According to the product description, these receivers are compatible with all intermediate cartridges, however, the company also notes that .458 and large bore rounds may not function in the intermediate upper. The X-Tra Lite receivers are Cerakoted with Midnight Bronze, OD Green, and Titanium color options available. The overall weight of the Faxon Firearms X-Tra Lite receiver set is .96 lbs (15.36 oz).
Faxon Firearms X-Tra Lite receiver sets can be found on the company’s website at an MSRP of $310. The price is identical for all color options. These receivers can’t be shipped to the following states: CA, CT, DC, HI, IL, MD, MA, NJ, and NY.
