First up are the short action magazine extensions. They add four rounds of .308/6.5 Creedmoor or two rounds of .330WSM/6.5 PRC. The retail price is $59 and they are in stock now. Available colors include black, red, grey, and blue.

Also featured this year are long action .308 magazines. There is a long history of using .308 Winchester in long-action rifles, including the M-24 Sniper Weapon System. A long action leaves more room for high-BC projectiles.

Accurate Mag manufactures rifles, actions, and chassis, as well as the magazines that feed them. Their AM725 action can be the basis for a custom build or is available as the AM725-A1 rifle, which is the cover photo for this article.

AMSR Rifle

The Advanced Multi-Caliber Sniper Rifle (AMSR) was displayed prominently in their booth. This complete rifle was designed to meet the SOCOM ASR criteria list. It is a multi-caliber platform that can fire .308 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor, .300 Win Mag, .300 Norma Mag, .338 Norma Mag, and .338 Lapua Mag. Switching calibers involves a barrel, bolt, and magazine swap. The barrel change feature is very quick and requires only the turning of a single bolt.

Another unique feature of the AMSR is its bolt head, which is a 4-lug design for a short throw. Complete AMSR rifles start around $6,500 for a single caliber, and they are available now in very limited quantities.
