As previously reported on TFB, new this year from Glock will be a Davidson’s dealer exclusive Gunsite G45. Designed as a collaboration between Glock, Gunsite and Holosun, the Gunsite G45 was designed to be a robust fighting pistol in the vein of what Col. Jeff Cooper would want to see in a fighting handgun. The Gunsite G45 has a Holosun optic as the main sighting system, with iron sights as backup. The magazine release and trigger connector have also been modified to Gunsite’s specs. Finally, a removable lanyard loop in the grip frame and a Gunsite logo on the top of the slide round out the Glock/Gunsite G45.

Gunsite and Holosun put on a brief press conference this morning in which they detailed the decision making process behind building the Gunsite Glock45. Per Gunsite, currently 60% of their pistol students show up with some form of red dot sight attached to their pistol, and they agree that it enhances the capability of one to make fast and accurate shots on target. Per Holosun, the HE509T is their #1 selling pistol mounted RDS for Law Enforcement purposes. Gunsite also said they selected the G45 because it best represented the intersection between capacity, conceivability, and robustness that they were looking for in a pistol.
