Questionably elected Kris Mayes, in a recent interview with reporters, revealed that the AG’s Election Integrity Unit (EIU) “is going to become a Voter Protection Unit” to “fight any effort by anyone to eliminate vote by mail” and prosecute alleged voter intimidation and alleged intimidation of election officials.
No recent reporting on Kris Mayes’ Voter Protection Unit or a reform of the Election Integrity Unit was found.
“There are occasionally, maybe a handful of cases of alleged voter fraud,” Mayes told reporters. “There are not very many cases like that. We are going to use this unit to protect the right of voters to access the ballot box and to protect our elections officials against death threats. It’s unacceptable, and it will be prosecuted when I am Attorney General.”
The Gateway Pundit recently reported that Abe Hamadeh filed a ‘Motion for New Trial’ in his lawsuit against the election run by Katie Hobbs and the legitimacy of the Mayes administration. Questions remain surrounding her election.
This possible weaponization of this unit worries conservatives that their right to free speech will be targeted by the Mayes regime.
As The Gateway Pundit recently reported, Mayes has brought on Marc Elias ally Daniel Barr as Chief Deputy AG to help her ignore voter fraud and potentially target conservative activists.
Arizona State Representative Alex Kolodin told The Gateway Pundit in an exclusive interview that he believes under Kris Mayes, the EIU will become “a machine for prosecuting conservative activists.” He further referenced the targeting of January 6 prisoners and conservative activists. “It’s going to be pretty soon where you’re gonna be watching your back every time you open your mouth,” said Kolodin.
After her inaugural ceremony last Thursday, Mayes spoke to a group of reporters while ignoring The Gateway Pundit. After an interview, Kris Mayes ran from TGP correspondent Jordan Conradson, asking questions about her tight election win and the recount in Pinal County that found hundreds of new votes.
In this same press gaggle, Mayes revealed her true plans for her office’s Election Integrity Unity in an interview with abc15.

abc: Regarding election integrity, I know you don’t want to get political, but you can’t help but get political on something like that. How do you see that working? And will you be going after some of these stop the steal efforts like fake electors, that sort of thing that happened during 2020?
Mayes: The Election Integrity Unit is going to become a Voter Protection Unit, and so, what we’re gonna do is protect the rights of voters to access the ballot box. I will fight any effort by anyone to eliminate vote by mail. We are going to prosecute anyone who tries to intimidate or engages in violence against our elections officials.
