Bachmann is very happy with her position at Regent University and is still very interested in US politics and the challenges the US faces today.
Dean Bachmann shared the following this afternoon:
Well as far as what will happen at 10:00 tonight, I think the odds are pretty favorable that Kevin McCarthy either picks up a few more people or as you said, people will go home. Friday night at 10 o’clock? I saw that on the news, that’s when they’re going to reconvene after their successful motion to adjourn, at that point you almost knew that something was going to happen. Because people have lives, they have commitments they have things they can’t get out of. Their child, for instance, is getting married tomorrow or if they have a family member who’s having a surgery, they can’t miss that. They have to go.
And so I think that the likelihood of members peeling out and not being present at 10 o’clock tonight is very high. So that very well could reduce the numbers enough that these holdouts won’t make a difference.
But going up to the 50,000-foot level, on all of this, I don’t think anyone should feel too badly about what’s happened this week. This is actually a very good thing because the problem with Congress is that it’s gotten so predictable. It is the same crowd that runs everything with the same processes and the reason there is no change in tour county is because there is no change in DC.
And after the election of 2020, the Presidential Election, where there were so many flawed problems in that election and the same now with 2022, two extremely improbable, almost statistically impossible results in 22 and 20, the base of people across the United States are looking about and saying ‘What’s going on’?
We didn’t hear one peep out of leader McConnell after the 2022 Election. We didn’t hear anything out of leader McCarthy after the 2022 election. And what is incredulous to me is after what should have been the biggest change election in modern times, when we would have seen a red wave crash over the Senate and the House, that’s really what should have happened…
Bachmann discussed how the current leaders in the GOP McDaniel, McConnell and McCarthy should have all been thrown out.
Bachmann went on to share that the holdouts should demand that McCarthy release all the surveillance video from Jan 6, 2021, at the Capitol. “That would settle once and for all what happened that day.”
According to Bachmann, Kevin McCarthy has been in the House for years, starting before he became a Representative. McCarthy was good at meeting with lobbyists and cutting deals. However, Bachmann says:
We’re way beyond cutting deals now. We’re way beyond cutting deals. Now we’ve got to address the elephant in the room which is really will America survive…
…The best game that we have right now is this Speakership. And that’s a huge deal.
Bachmann says we’re a “Nation in delusion” and “swimming in a sea of lies”. But Bachmann believes we have hope because “Nothing is impossible for God”.
