New CVA Cascade XT Bolt-Action Rifle

CVA have added another model to their Cascade line of bolt action rifles. The new Cascade XT (X-Treme) is advertised as a precision-oriented version of the Cascade and a multiple-purpose rifle for hunters. The difference between the Cascade XT and other rifles in this family is that the new rifle features an enlarged bolt knob and a fluted barrel that comes equipped with a muzzle brake.

Here is how CVA describe the advantages of upgraded parts:

First, the heavier # 5 taper fluted barrel adds stability and improves balance, while also allowing the rapid firing of multiple shots without accuracy loss due to excessive barrel heating.  Next, our radial muzzle brake greatly reduces recoil, making the XT very comfortable to shoot both on the range and in the field, even in heavier calibers.  And lastly, the XT’s tactical-style bolt knob provides better leverage for faster manipulation of the bolt, especially from the prone position.

The new CVA Cascade XT rifles will be available in one of the following chambering options: 6.5 Creedmoor, .308 Winchester, .450 Bushmaster, .350 Legend, 6.5 PRC, 7mm Remington Magnum, .300 Winchester Magnum. The .450 Bushmaster version has 11/16×24 muzzle threads and the rest of the caliber options come with 5/8×24 threaded barrels. The barrels are made of 4140 steel and are Cerakoted. The barrel lengths vary from 22″ to 26″. The ambidextrous stock features dual front sling studs, comes with a Crushzone recoil pad installed and has a Soft-touch finish with Realtree Hillside camouflage. The Cascade XT rifle also features a 3-lug bolt with a 70-degree bolt throw, adjustable trigger, two-position safety, and it’s fed from flush-fit detachable box magazines. CVA Cascade XT rifle is listed on the company’s website at an MSRP of $799. These rifles are backed by a lifetime warranty.
