President Trump Predicts University of Florida will Regret Hiring Whiny Ben Sasse for Its President

RINO Senator Ben Sasse is resigning from the U.S. Senate.

He is the sole finalist to become President of the University of Florida.

The Tampa Bay Times reported:

In a highly anticipated announcement following a year of tumult on campus, the University of Florida said Thursday it has zeroed in on a national political figure to be its next president: Republican U.S. Sen. Ben Sasse of Nebraska.

Sasse, 50, emerged as the sole finalist in a search that took place under a new Florida law that keeps the key early stages of a public university’s presidential selection process out of the public eye. But UF officials sought to allay any concerns, calling their process “exhaustive.”

Members of the school’s presidential search committee reached out to more than 700 leaders nationwide, narrowing the field to what they called “a dozen highly qualified diverse candidates,” including nine who were sitting presidents at major research universities. The university declined to name anyone in that group, citing the new law.

The University of Florida board is filled with DeSantis appointees.

Donald Trump said the University of Florida will regret its decision to hire Sasse – DeSantis is yet to respond.

Politico reported:

Fallout — It will be interesting to see how a conservative Republican senator will fit in Gainesville, but Sasse’s nomination is already drawing opposition from one notable politician: Former President Donald Trump. As pointed out by Tampa Bay Times’ Emily L. Mahoney, Trump took to his social media account to say UF will “regret” its decision to hire Sasse, who was one of a handful of Republican senators who voted to convict Trump following the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol. Trump lumped him in with “weak” and “ineffective RINOs.” Sasse’s hiring, however, has been praised by the administration of Gov. Ron DeSantis. Hmm.

— WHERE’S RON? — Nothing official announced for Gov. DeSantis.

With RINO Sasse resigning there is a chance that a real conservative senator may replace him.

However the Governor of Nebraska will pick his replacement and he is a Trump-basher.

Newsweek reported:

The expected resignation of Republican Senator Ben Sasse, one of a handful of GOP senators who voted to convict former President Donald Trump in his impeachment trial in February 2021, will allow Nebraska’s governor to appoint a replacement to fill the seat.

Among the names listed in an initial wave of speculation on Thursday were Nebraska GOP Representatives Mike Flood and Don Bacon, as well as outgoing Governor Pete Ricketts. Under Nebraska law, the state’s governor is responsible for filling vacancies in Nebraska’s representation in the U.S. Senate.

Geoff Lorenz, an assistant professor of political science at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, told Newsweek that Ricketts, a Republican who is not seeking reelection because of a term limit, is the most likely person to fill Sasse’s seat.

Will a real conservative fill Sasse’s seat?
