Mark Morgan is an American law enforcement official who served as the Chief Operating Officer and acting Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection from July 5, 2019, to January 20, 2021.
Morgan also had a two-decade-long career in the Federal Bureau of Investigation, culminating in appointments as head of the Inspection Division and Training Division and Assistant Director of special agents in charge of a field office.
On Friday The Gateway Pundit spoke with Mark Morgan about the very public and humiliating FBI arrest of Trump adviser Peter Navarro.
During his four years in the White House, Peter Navarro was one of President Donald Trump’s most trusted and loyal advisors. Peter Navarro was charged with two counts of contempt of Congress for failing to comply with the subpoena from the January 6 Select Committee allegedly investigating the attack on Capitol Hill.
On May 31, 2020, Navarro filed a civil suit seeking both declaratory and injunctive relief against both the Committee and US attorney for the District of Columbia, citing a wide range of constitutional issues ranging from violation of the separation of powers and violation of the constitutional proscription against bills of attainder to the trampling of both executive privilege and testimonial immunity.

Three days later, the FBI responded in brutal fashion by surveilling Navarro on his way to Reagan National Airport and then taking him down by force with armed agents in the jetway. Navarro was then refused access to legal advice, put in leg irons in the same cell is John Hinckley once occupied, and now faces up to two years in prison for contempt of a Congress charge that no one in the 236 year history of our Republic has ever faced before in such a brutal manner.
Former FBI agents and security experts described Navarro’s take down as a maneuver far outside the norm designed to punish and humiliate and coerce Navarro.
We asked Mark Morgan about the arrest of Peter Navarro. Here is what he told The Gateway Pundit,
“I found the way the arrest was executed to be simply outrageous. In Peter’s case, there was no allegation or indication of violent behavior. His case did not even fall in the same level of concern as white-collar crime.”
Mark added, “There were procedural violations. Peter Navarro checks none of the boxes for the type of arrest that took place. The DOJ is trying to send a message and they are using the FBI to facilitate it.”
As far as the FBI goes, Mark Morgan agrees that this gives the agency another black eye. This is just one more incident for the public to lose trust. This arrest of Navarro was not the role of the FBI.
Mark Morgan told The Gateway Pundit he was shocked. It was meant to humiliate.
Peter Navarro is raising money to pay for his defense in the junk charges against him in the Biden regime’s continued political witch hunt of President Trump and his closest advisors.
