Poll Finds Kamala Harris, Michelle Obama Top Picks for 2024 if Joe Biden Doesn’t Run

Vice President Kamala Harris and former First Lady Michelle Obama are apparently the Democrats’ best picks if Joe Biden doesn’t run again in 2024, according to the results of a new poll.

Biden will be turning 82-years-old shortly after the next election.

The new Hill/HarrisX poll found that Harris had support from 13 percent of respondents and Obama followed in second with support from 10 percent.

Fox News reports that “receiving support below 10% were a handful of former 2020 hopefuls, including Sens. Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and Cory Booker; billionaire former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg; businessman Andrew Yang; and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.”

Another 13 percent said that they hope to choose someone who was not listed in the poll options.

Obama has long been discussed as a Democratic candidate, but has repeatedly said that she does not have interest in running.

Harris has notoriously low approval ratings in her current role.

Last week, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said that it is Biden’s “intention” to run again in the next election.

Trump has repeatedly hinted that he plans to run as well, including in his recent Thanksgiving statement.

“A very interesting time in our Country, but do not worry, we will be great again—and we will all do it together,” he wrote. “America will never fail, and we will never allow it to go in the wrong direction. Too many generations of greatness are counting on us. Enjoy your Thanksgiving knowing that a wonderful future lies ahead!”
