A New York judge in September ordered President Trump to give a videotaped deposition in a lawsuit that was filed by protesters of ‘Mexican origin’ who claim they were physically attacked outside of Trump Tower in 2015.
The six Mexican protesters are suing Donald Trump, the Trump Organization, Trump’s campaign and his security crew.

Former President Trump will appear in a videotaped deposition today as part of a law suit related to a demonstration outside his New York City building during his campaign in 2015, according to a Bronx judge order.
A group of Mexican protestors are alleging they were assaulted outside of Trump Tower by security guards. They were protesting Trump’s comments on Latin American immigrants as he ran for president.
The lawsuit names several defendants including Trump, his campaign and his former head of security Keith Schiller.
The former president said in a 2016 affidavit he had no knowledge of the altercation and was not directly involved in hiring security personnel. His attorney had tried to get him out of testifying, but a judge decided his testimony was ‘indispensable.’
Trump is in the midst of at least 10 civil lawsuits.
According to the VAERS tracking website, in the United States, 4,144 Americans have died following the Moderna COVID vaccination. 11,346 have died due to the Pfizer vaccination.
On Monday the FDA delayed approval for the Moderna vaccine for children.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced Friday it would delay its decision on administration of the Moderna vaccine to adolescents, citing concerns the shot may lead to a heightened risk of a rare heart condition.
The FDA has not yet determined if the risk is higher for adolescents, but the agency is planning to review the data further before extending the vaccine’s eligibility, according to the Wall Street Journal.
“I think people can be reassured that the risk of myocarditis with an mRNA vaccine is low, it appears to be balanced between the different products,” Paul Burton, Moderna’s chief medical officer, told the outlet.

Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker deferred the COVID vaccine mandate for employees of veterans’ homes, prisons and other congregate facilities until the end of November. The union members now have another 7 weeks to get vaccinated with the experimental COVID vaccine.
Union members fought the mandates and thousands would have been let go this week if the mandate was not extended.
Gov. J.B. Pritzker has pushed back a deadline for state employees of veterans’ homes, prisons and other congregate facilities to be vaccinated against COVID-19 as his office negotiates with labor unions representing some workers.
Pritzker, who in August set an Oct. 4 deadline for state workers covered by his requirement to get the vaccine, on Friday said employees have until Nov. 30 to be fully vaccinated, the Chicago Tribune reported. The workers are employed by the departments of Corrections, Veterans Affairs, Human Services and Juvenile Justice.
Pritzker’s administration has reached agreements with several unions representing state workers. But negotiations continue with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Council 31 and Teamsters Local 700. AFSCME, which represents some 15,000 state workers affected by the requirement, objected to what it called “rigid mandates.”
This might come as a surprise, but 40% of California state employees are unvaccinated despite Gov. Gavin Newsom’s directive to mandate the jab or be subjected to regular testing.
Newsom issued this new directive in July following a surge in COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations, and deaths. At the time, he said, “We are now dealing with a pandemic of the unvaccinated, and it’s going to take renewed efforts to protect Californians from the dangerous Delta variant.”
Still months later, less than two-thirds of state workers, or 62%, were vaccinated, according to The Sacramento Bee. The figure is much lower than the state’s overall rate of 72%.
Human Resources Department spokeswoman Camille Travis said her agency has only compiled 89% of state employee vaccination status. She said the data so far suggests some state employees weren’t compelled to get jabbed after Newsom’s directive.
Some of the state’s largest departments shared vaccination rates: 52% of California Highway Patrol employees, 60% of Department of Motor Vehicles employees, and 60% of prison employees have received the shots. California Department of Transportation has the highest with 70%.
Newsom’s mandatory jab, or be forced to regular testing for state employees, is less stringent than those of health care workers who have been forced to get the vaccine unless they had a medical exemption or religious claim. One emerging drawback of mandatory jabs, with no consideration for regular testing nor naturally-acquired immunity, are reports that a third of all hospitals in the state are experiencing critical staffing shortages because engineers, janitorial staff, respiratory therapists, nurses, midwives, physical therapists, and technicians have either staged strikes or have left the job over the mandate.
Director of Medical Ethics, Dr. Aaron Kheriaty of the University of California, Irvine, challenged the constitutionality of the hospital’s vaccine mandate regarding individuals who have recovered from COVID and have naturally acquired immunity and was immediately placed on leave. There’s no room to debate science as only the government can decide what’s best for state employees.
The same sort of stringent vaccination rules for healthcare workers could be coming to the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, the state’s largest department, with approximately 66,000 employees and a vaccination rate of 60%.
Overreaching government mandating jabs has unintended consequences such as workers striking or leaving their posts altogether, exacerbating already critical labor shortages in essential services.
Perhaps of even more note is the fact no lesser liberal mouthpiece than The New York Times is finally willing to admit that it’s not just KKK-Hat-wearing ‘Trumpers’ that are the great unwashed deplorables refusing to get vaccinated.
In New York, for example, only 42 percent of African Americans of all ages (and 49 percent among adults) are fully vaccinated – the lowest rate among all demographic groups tracked by the city.
This is another area in which the dominant image of the white, QAnon-spouting, Tucker Carlson-watching conspiracist anti-vaxxer dying to own the libs is so damaging.
It can lead us to ignore the problem of racialized health inequities with deep historic roots but also ongoing repercussions, and prevent us from understanding that there are different kinds of vaccine hesitancy, which require different approaches.

Canadian government employees have been banned from saying “let’s go Brandon” or any variation of the popular rally cry.
The meme phrase started as fans at sports games began constantly chanting “f-ck Joe Biden,” but was misunderstood to have been “let’s go Brandon” by NBC reporter Kelli Stavast while she was interviewing Nascar driver Brandon Brown.
A letter from the Canadian government to employees, dated October 14, was posted online by Peter McCaffrey, the president of the Alberta Institute. It said that it was a “formal notification” that the phrase “Let’s go, Brandon” in any form is banned by the Canadian Public Service.
Canadian government workers must not say “Let’s Go Brandon”, or any variation thereof, in any communication.
“The use of colloquialism or saying with intended double meaning or offense are strictly prohibited in all means of correspondence and/or communication,” the letter said.
The letter further stated that it is a “zero tolerance issue” that will result in “dismissal without recourse or labour union representation.”
The Canadian Public Service is the civilian workforce of the Government of Canada’s departments, agencies, and other public bodies.
There are approximately 300,450 employees working under the CPS.
Gen. Colin Powell, the influential former secretary of state and chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff who played a pivotal policy role during the administration of then-President George W. Bush, died Monday at 84 from complications related to COVID-19, his family announced.
“We have lost a remarkable and loving husband, father, grandfather and a great American,” his family said in a statement, adding that he was fully vaccinated.
The statement continued, “We want to thank the medical staff at Walter Reed National Medical Center for their caring treatment.”

Four Trump supporters died at the Jan. 6 protests – at least two were killed by police.
Over 140 school bus routes are being cancelled in Seattle on Monday due to a driver shortage caused by vaccine mandates.
The routes are suspended indefinitely and will impact roughly 7,000 students.
Washington’s Democrat Governor Jay Inslee has mandated vaccines for all state workers and contractors — which includes bus drivers. Over 100 drivers are expected to be fired on Monday for not complying.
“Due to the district’s bus shortage, Greenwood’s general education bus route will no longer be in service starting Monday, October 18th. We understand the major impact this has on our school community. We faced this issue last spring when we reopened, and our families were resilient and found ways to support safe walking routes to school each day,” Greenwood Elementary School’s principal wrote in an email to parents obtained by local station KIRO.
Their report continued on to say that Seattle Public Schools might have to cut as much as “two-thirds of its general education bus routes because not enough drivers were complying with the state’s vaccine mandate.”
Some of the schools are resorting to trying to get school children passes for public transportation to solve the problem that the governor created.
“It’s our hope that the staffing shortages faced by First Student will be resolved as quickly as possible so we can resume – and improve upon – all bus service,” SPS Assistant Superintendent of Operations Fred Podesta in a statement, according to King 5 News. “In the meantime, we are actively looking for alternative solutions to this challenge, such as the expanded provision of ORCA transit passes for middle school students, and other modes of transportation.”
