After clearing the House by an overwhelming margin (414-9) last month, the Modernizing Access to Our Public Lands Act passed the Senate unanimously on Wednesday. The bill is now headed to President Biden’s desk to be signed into law.
This is a clear win for hunters, anglers, and other recreators, as the MAPLands Act will enhance recreational opportunities on public lands by investing in modern mapping systems and ushering federal map records into the modern era. The legislation directs federal land managers to standardize, compile, and release digital map records to the public. Making this information available as geospatial files will allow public-land users to download and view these maps on smartphones and handheld GPS units.
These modern mapping files will also include vital information for sportsmen and women who recreate on public lands and waters, including legal easements and rights-of-way across private land; year-round and seasonal closures on roads and trails; restrictions by vehicle type; and boundaries of areas where special rules or prohibitions apply to hunting and shooting.
Conservation groups and public lands advocates have been major proponents of the MAPLands Act ever since Congress introduced companion bills in the House and Senate last spring. Land Tawney, president and CEO of Backcountry Hunters and Anglers, has acknowledged that “figuring out where to hunt can be the most challenging part of getting afield. And with hunters citing insufficient access as the No. 1 reason for forgoing time afield, resolving this issue [has been] a priority for BHA and our partners.”
As indicated by Wednesday’s unanimous vote, H.R. 3113 and S. 904 drew bipartisan support in both chambers of Congress. And with assistance from groups like BHA and the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership, Democratic and Republican leaders were able to get these bills across the finish line.
“I’m thrilled my MAPLand Act is on its way to President Biden’s Desk,” said Congressman Blake Moore (R-Utah), who co-sponsored the House bill along with Reps. Kim Schrier (D-Wash.), Russ Fulcher (R-Idaho), and Joe Neguse (D-Colo.).
“This is a major step forward for all who enjoy our federal lands,” Moore added. “I thank my colleagues in the Senate for their strong display of support for our efforts to modernize and digitize our critical public land records.”
A landmark conservation bill known as the Recovering America’s Wildlife Act made it past a crucial hurdle on Thursday morning as it received a vote in the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee. Lawmakers voted strongly in favor of the Act (15-5), which some conservation groups are calling the most important wildlife conservation legislation in 50 years.
The bill was introduced by Reps. Debbie Dingle (D-MI) and Jeff Fortenberry (R-NE), along with Sens. Martin Heinrich (D-NM) and Roy Blunt (R-MO) in July 2021. Since then, it has picked up 32 cosponsors on both sides of the aisle. Conservation groups championing the legislation believe this broad bipartisan support all but ensures the bill’s eventual passage through Congress.
“I don’t think we need to tell you how difficult it has become to find bipartisan areas of agreement these days,” Sen. Heinrich said in a recent tweet promoting the bill. “But Senator Blunt and I have discovered during our time in the Senate that the outdoors and wildlife conservation gives us a unique opportunity to find common ground—even in Washington D.C.”
The Recovering America’s Wildlife Act (or RAWA) would direct $1.3 billion in annual funding toward state fish and wildlife agencies, along with an additional $97.5 million for tribal agencies. By building on the collaborative relationships that these chronically underfunded agencies have already established, the money would be used to proactively manage at-risk species, restore important habitat, and prevent further biodiversity loss. Funding for the act would come from the federal government’s General Fund, and this money would be managed and distributed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
The Alliance for America’s Fish and Wildlife—which is made up of 120 different conservation groups from around the country—has rallied behind the Act, with groups like the National Wildlife Federation and Backcountry Hunters and Anglers calling RAWA the most important piece of wildlife legislation since the Endangered Species Act. And while the ESA might not be a perfect piece of legislation, it has undoubtedly changed the course of wildlife conservation in America. The numbers speak for themselves, and according to the World Wildlife Federation, 99 percent of the species that have been placed on the Endangered Species List over the years have avoided extinction.
But as BHA’s Conservation Director John Gale points out, the whole premise of RAWA is to take a proactive approach to wildlife management and prevent species from ever becoming listed in the first place.
“Over 12,000 species have already been identified that are in need of proactive conservation,” Gale says. “We have our work cut out for us to prevent them from becoming threatened or endangered, and this is the tool to help us roll up our sleeves and get to work.”
As Gale explains, RAWA would also look at the issues facing the nation’s wildlife through a holistic lens. This means investing in iconic native species like elk and cutthroat trout, as well as non-game species that we haven’t yet established funding mechanisms for.
“All parts of the biological community matter,” BHA’s Executive Director Land Tawney says. “But unfortunately, much of our nation’s wildlife has been neglected. Yesterday we took a major step toward providing state and tribal wildlife managers with the resources they need to safeguard these vital resources.”
Tawney also echoes what has become a motto for the act, as it’s something that Sen. Heinrich and other proponents of RAWA have repeated as the bill has garnered additional support on Capitol Hill: “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!”
So, with this rallying cry in mind, Gale says the conservation community is optimistic about the bill’s eventual passage through Congress. RAWA will now head to the Senate floor for a vote, and from there it will move onto the House. Gale hopes for the bill to reach President Biden’s desk before the midterm elections take place this fall.
“We’re feeling very positive and really hopeful about where it’s going at this point,” Gale says. “I think this is a great moment to celebrate as we move onto the next step here.”
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has ruled on Friday that Will Smith will be banned from attending the Oscar ceremonies for the next ten years after the actor slapped comedian Chris Rock in the face for making a joke about his wife’s hair.
“During our telecast, we did not adequately address the situation in the room. For this, we are sorry. This was an opportunity for us to set an example for our guests, viewers and our Academy family around the world, and we fell short – unprepared for the unprecedented,” Academy President David Rubin and CEO Dawn Hudson said in a statement on Friday.
“Today, the Board has decided, for a period of 10 years from April 8, 2022, Mr. Smith shall not be permitted to attend any Academy events or programs, in person or virtually, including but not limited to the Academy Awards,” the letter stated.
“We want to express our deep gratitude to Mr. Rock for maintaining his composure under extraordinary circumstances. We also want to thank our hosts, nominees, presenters and winners for their poise and grace during our telecast.”
“This action we are taking today in response to Will Smith’s behavior is a step toward a larger goal of protecting the safety of our performers and guests, and restoring trust in the Academy. We also hope this can begin a time of healing and restoration for all involved and impacted,” the letter concluded.
Last week, the Academy of Motion Pictures announced they would take appropriate action against Will Smith for assaulting this year’s host Chris Rock on stage during the ceremony and then screaming f-bombs at Rock from his seat in the front row. Such a class act.
The Academy previously revealed that they asked Will Smith to leave the awards show after Smith’s vicious assault, but he refused. This was not the case.
“Oscars producer Will Packer came out around the same time and said Smith should stay. There was never a chance for Smith to “refuse” to leave, the insiders said, nor did anyone in the Academy directly speak to the actor about such a request,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The movie opens up with Kellyanne Conway bragging about the Facebook ads from the 2016 elections. She has a background as a campaign consultant so this makes sense. But it does ignore the hundreds of conservative websites pumping out thousands of articles and millions of page views supporting Donald Trump and exposing the Hillary campaign in 2016. Shortly after the 2016 election Zuckerberg and Facebook targeted, censored and deleted most of the prominent pro-Trump pages. Today most of those conservative Facebook giants are gone. Zuckerberg destroyed them.
One of the early conclusions of the film is that Zuckerberg was behind a massive “get-out-the-vote” campaign. Where? The Gateway Pundit previously reported that prior to the 2020 election Republicans knocked on 1 million doors. Democrats knocked on ZERO doors and openly admitted it. There was NO get-out-the-vote campaign on the left. There were no massive call centers. There was no significant GOTO campaign for Joe Biden. He rarely even campaigned.
The movie mentions CTCL and VoteatHome operatives were helping the operatives inside the polling centers.
The movie does not mention that Republicans were excluded from the process and left out of most of the counting rooms. It was leftist operatives who were “curating absentee ballots” inside the rooms in several states. It was leftist operatives who had keys to the absentee ballot storage rooms.
The movie claims the Zuckerberg money helped Democrat turnout surge in Wisconsin. What? How?
The movie misses the mark on the actual voter fraud in the 2020 election.

In the corporate world every instance of fraud, whether $1 or $5 million is to be shared with the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors. This is why federal prosecutors are refusing to hand over text messages and laptops from FBI informants in the Whitmer kidnapping case. The FBI actually hatched the plot. paid for the plot, ran the plot and set up the innocent men in their immoral scheme.
The FBI’s top informant behind the kidnapping scam was later arrested after he beat his wife following a swingers party.

As California Governor Gavin Newsom’s incredible unpopularity with his constituents forced him to ease up on mask restrictions for the time being, eight highly controversial, draconian bills are being pushed in the State House by Democratic legislators. They include:
SB 871 – would require all children 0-17 to get the COVID -19 vaccine to attend childcare or school potentially without FDA approval. That bill also takes away any personal or religious belief exemptions,
SB 866 – would allow kids 12-17 to get the COVID-19 vaccine without parental consent,
SB 1464 – would force law enforcement officials to enforce public health orders,
AB 2098 – would reclassify the sharing of COVID-19 “misinformation” by doctors and surgeons as unprofessional conduct that would result in disciplinary actions; and
AB 1993 – would require all CA employers to require the COVID-19 Vaccine to work in the state, including independent contractors. And big penalties for companies who do not enforce it.

A Project Veritas journalist confronted Hillary Clinton and asked her if she would pay the legal costs from a defamation suit related to Democracy Partners.
Clinton replied, “I don’t understand that. I don’t know Bob Creamer.”
Project Veritas has published video of former Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton repeatedly denying knowledge of the story of a woman who was recently ordered to pay Project Veritas’ legal costs from a defamation suit stemming from a 2016 investigation the group Democracy Partners which organized on her behalf.
When asked if she would pay Teter’s legal costs, Clinton repeatedly denied knowing anything about Teter, Democracy Partners, or its former President Bob Creamer saying “I don’t understand that. I don’t know Bob Creamer.”
After Project Veritas published its investigation into Democracy Partners which revealed the group was responsible for inciting violence at Trump rallies, Creamer resigned, saying “I am unwilling to become a distraction to the important task of electing Hilary Clinton.” Creamer was featured in that investigation saying that Clinton’s campaign is aware of the group’s activities “through chain of command.”
When pressed further, Clinton declined to state if she would pay for Teter’s legal bills, including when approached by a separate Project Veritas reporter while leaving the National Action Network luncheon event where Clinton spoke.
