A massive 18 pounds of cocaine, 27 pounds of heroin, and 78 pounds of marijuana were intercepted from drug smugglers this weekend in just the El Paso area ports of entry.

These numbers constitute a fraction of the total drugs seized this weekend and just a fraction of a fraction of the total drugs smuggled across the border.

Most smuggling efforts are successful. To put this matter in perspective, the latest numbers from U.S. Customs and Border Protection log over 296,000 lbs of narcotics seized so far this year. But, fewer than 5% of vehicles crossing the border are thoroughly screened by CBP and, on average, only 3,000 people are arrested for smuggling drugs each year.

On April 8, CBP officers conducting vehicle inspections detected the presence of narcotics in the car of a 24-year-old U.S. citizen who was transporting 18 pounds of cocaine.

On April 9. CBP officers seized 27 pounds of heroin following an x-ray scan of a vehicle.

On April 10,  an unassuming 63-year-old U.S. citizen who was transporting 78 pounds of marijuana was caught when drug dogs alerted officers to the presence of narcotics.

Regardless of an individual’s position on decriminalization, the fact remains that drugs crossing the southern border are financing cartel warlords, contributing to the instability of Mexico and Central America, and creating an environment that produces even more illegal immigrants.

Quantifying the immensity of drugs passing over our border and onto the streets of America requires rather difficult arithmetic with too many unknown variables. What is certain, however, is that each and every single day pounds upon pounds of deadly poison slip through the cracks—far more makes it through than is ever caught.

10 people were shot earlier Tuesday in the 36th Street subway station in Brooklyn, New York. At least 29 people were injured in total. Multiple undetonated devices were also found in the area. Police said the person of interest in this shooting attack, 62-year-old Frank James, rented the U-Haul connected to the mass shooting attack. It took several hours for the police to identify Frank James as a person of interest because according to NYC Mayor Eric Adams, a glitch caused the cameras in the subway to malfunction. Totally normal. “We are communicating with the MTA to find out was it throughout the entire station or was it just one camera,” Mayor Adams told WCBS 880.

“The cameras at three subway stations the NYPD attempted to access — 25 St, 36 St and 45 St in Brooklyn— were not transmitting in real time due to a glitch.” ABC News investigative reporter Aaron Katersky said. “The cameras were not sabotaged. It was a computer malfunction.”

Smartmatic Inc, the service provider for the 2022 automated elections in the Philippines, admitted last April 1 that a “data leak” occurred in its system but claimed it is not related to the upcoming election in May.

“Smartmatic informed us that they have meted the appropriate disciplinary action against that employee of theirs,” Commission on Election chairperson Saidamen Pangarungan said.

“They emphasized to us that the data leak does not have anything to do with the elections in 2022. What was leaked were data concerning their internal organization and activities,” he added.

According to GMA news, Senate President Sotto told the media that the employee from  Smartmatic allowed a certain group “to copy the files containing sensitive information from his laptop.”

Smartmatic assured the Comelec that the security of the ballots and configured SD cards are not compromised by the internal data leak, according the poll body chief.

Pangarungan said the Comelec will wait first for the official report of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on the reported data breach before issuing its decision regarding the incident.

Smartmatic is aware that we studied all possible courses of action that the Comelec will take against them if ever. So, we have to wait for the NBI report because that would be the official basis of Comelec’s action.

The newly-appointed Comelec chief assured the public that could be confident with the results of the elections  despite the security concerns over the 2022 national and local elections.

“I want to assure everyone, you read my lips, we will not allow anyone to undermine the people’s confidence in our electoral system. That is our pledge,” Pangarungan said.

Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III said a Smartmatic employee involved in the alleged security breach in its system is now under the custody of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

The Philippines NBI raided the house of Ricardo Argana, the Smartmatic employee involved in the alleged security breach in the Smartmatic system, on Tuesday.

According to the report, authorities recovered his smartphone and some SD cards hidden in the room’s ceiling during the raid.

Authorities also found the Wi-Fi router that Argana used to have” access to gadgets of other five IT suspects for six days.”

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) raided the home of the former Smartmatic employee implicated in the alleged security breach in its system

Armed with a search warrant, the NBI-Cybercrime Division (NBI-CCD) scoured the home of Ricardo Argana, who was not there at the time of raid.

Authorities found his smartphone and some SD cards hidden in the room’s ceiling during the search.

They also dismantled the Wi-Fi router that Argana used to have access to gadgets of other five IT suspects for six days.

NBI-CCD chief Victor Lorenzo said that Argana’s contract with Smartmatic was only for six months, but part of his job is to determine the possible glitches in the machines.

So, he was allowed to navigate the controlled environment of Smartmatic. ‘That’s all he has access to. His explanation is that he has people to talk to and he is allowed to have access to the controlled environment.

We want to know if he has an accomplice, or if he is acting alone or who are his accomplices if he had.

Smartmatic’s laptop has been returned, but Argana already encrypted it so it won’t be subject for forensic examination, according to the NBI.

Authorities are now examining the cellphone, Wi-Fi router, and SD cards found at the suspect’s house.

A total of 720 counts of unlawful access were filed against Argana. He is, however, still at large.

We will assess what he has to say, if he will be qualified as a state witness. Let’s see what he has to say. If not, we will continuously file a case against him and the only thing we can guarantee to him is that sooner or later he will be caught.

Meanwhile, NBI Director Eric Distor said they are looking into the available digital evidence to verify the cost of the system breach.

It can be recalled that Smartmatic was also involved in an alleged voting fraud during the Philippine 2016 election. Data were found in SD cards of unused vote-counting machines.

ABS-CBN reported:

The Commission on Elections on Monday found data in some supposedly unused vote counting machines used in the last elections.

The poll body decrypted or unlocked another 26 SD cards, after an initial 127 cards were also found to contain data. The cards were from 1,356 backup counting machines.

At least 13 of the 26 SD cards decrypted as of noon were found to contain data. The ERSD, however, has not determined the exact contents of the SD cards or whether these could alter election results.

But lawyer Vic Rodriguez, Marcos’ spokesperson, said the mere presence of data in the SD cards strengthened their position that there was cheating in the May 9, 2016 elections.

Smartmatic, a UK based company, is a George Soros linked company that has provided voting technology in 16 states including battleground zones like Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

NYPD Commissioner said Frank James posted “concerning” videos online about NY Mayor Adams and homelessness.

“Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call at 1-800-577-TIPS.”

The FBI missed another one!

A fed-up 54-year-0ld man from Pennsylvania was arrested last month after allegedly putting Biden’s “I Did That” stickers on gas station pumps due to record-high gas prices.

Thomas Richard Glazewski of Manor Township was criminally charged last March 31 after he was arrested in Lancaster, Pennsylvania for posting Biden’s “I Did That” stickers onto the gas pumps at a local Turkey Hill gas station, according to a report from Fox News.

An employee told the police that Glazewski reportedly sprayed the stickers with a substance to make them hard to remove.

Glazewski was charged last week with a misdemeanor of resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, harassment, and criminal mischief, Lancaster Online reported.

Glazewski screamed, “I did that. I did that. That’s what I did,” while pointing to the Biden stickers, according to footage posted on Facebook that recorded the March 31 arrest, which has been shared more than 3,000 times as of Monday.

Police tackled him in the parking lot of the gas station and he suffered from “self-inflicted injuries” that necessitated EMS to take him the hospital, according to charging documents.

A Turkey Hill employee told police that Glazewski sprayed the stickers with something to make them more difficult to remove, charging documents also said.

Glazewski is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on April 26 before District Judge Brian Chudzik.

The stickers blaming Biden for skyrocketing gas prices have popped up at gas pumps nationwide. A 100-pack of such stickers runs from $10 to $13 on Amazon.

Javier Estrada Ovalles, who has been selling the stickers online and at his physical store in El Monte, California, said the requests for such stickers have risen from 20 or 30 orders per day to 80 order per day during the past month, according to Slate.

According to the AAA website, the highest recorded average price for regular unleaded was $4.331 last March 11 under Joe Biden and $5.135 for diesel last March 12.
