Beretta Defense recently announced that the whole Armed Forces of France have adopted the Benelli Supernova 12 guage shotgun in several configurations, making the Supernova the standard issue shotgun of the French military. Benelli will have a seven-year contract to produce the Supernova shotguns, with a contracted cost of €4,500,000. The convertible Benelli M3 (capable of both pump-action and semi-auto) shotgun is already in use in special French Army units, but the Benelli Supernova had to go through its own testing process, which was reportedly “severe,” but undisclosed at this time. The 18.5 and 14-inch configurations are quite common barrel lengths, while the 28-inch barrel for anti-drone work is seen less frequently as some militaries are fielding electronic jamming “rifles,” which have much greater range than conventional firearms. There was no further mention as to how many of each length model of the Supernova shotguns the French Armed Forces have settled on. The Benelli Supernova has an interesting feature in that it has a magazine cut off button on the underside of the handguard, that when depressed while working the action, stops ammunition from feeding from the magazine. This feature allows for a quick switch to different types of loads.

Last night’s production in the House was straight out of the communist playbook and with it came the confirmation of the communist takeover of the US House of Representatives and our government.
Last night the communist regime running the US House of Representatives ensured that all major media outlets show their show trials to the American people. Like Mao Zedong in communist China, Joseph Stalin in communist Russia, or Hugo Chavez in communist Venezuela, all major news outlets were coerced to see only what the regime allowed them to see.
Only FOX, Newsmax, and OAN decided not to run the show trials and today, CNN shamed them for not joining in like good communists.
The prime-time hearing began at 8 p.m. Eastern time. When Rep. Bennie Thompson gaveled the hearing to order, Fox News host Tucker Carlson ignored him. Carlson declared that the “ruling class” was giving “yet another lecture about January 6.” He called the hearing “propaganda” and reveled in his refusal to air it. “They are lying,” he said, “and we are not going to help them do it.”
Carlson then lied himself: He said “if something noteworthy happens” at the hearing, “obviously we will bring it to you immediately.” But his show did not do that.
When Thompson said January 6 was “the culmination of an attempted coup,” Carlson asked why the news media cared at all. He barely mentioned Donald Trump, even though the former president’s plot to undermine American democracy was the focal point of the hearing. Instead, he talked a lot about Democrats and questioned why other networks were committing “collusion” with the House by televising the hearing. “Because the Democrats and the left are desperate,” his guest Jason Whitlock said.

The Biden regime is expected to announce on Friday that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will end its requirement for travelers to take a Covid-19 test within days before boarding their flights before entering the US.
The mandate is set to expire this Sunday at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time according to a senior administration official.
The initial mandate required fully vaccinated to show proof of a negative Covid-19 test within three days of travel, while unvaccinated people had to show a test taken within one day of travel.
Per CDC, the mandate is no longer necessary “based on the science and data,” CNN reported.
The CDC is lifting the restriction that the travel industry had lobbied against for months after determining it was no longer necessary “based on the science and data,” the official said. The CDC will reassess its decision in 90 days and if officials decide they need to reinstate it, because of a concerning new variant, for example, will do so. The measure has been in place since January 2021.
The official said the Biden administration plans to work with airlines to ensure a smooth transition with the change, but it will likely be a welcome move for most in the industry.
The travel industry, and some scientific experts, said the policy had been out of date for months.

The occurrence of stagflation is associated with a situation of general strengthening in the momentum of prices while at the same time the pace of economic activity is declining.
A famous stagflation episode occurred during the 1974-75 period, as year-on-year industrial production fell by nearly 13 percent in March 1975 while the yearly growth rate of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) jumped to around 12 percent. Likewise, a large fall in economic activity and galloping price inflation was observed during 1979. By December of that year, the yearly growth rate of industrial production stood close to nil while the yearly growth rate of the CPI closed at over 13 percent.
According to popular thinking of that time, the central bank influences the pace of economic expansion through monetary policies. This influence however, carries a price, which is inflation. Many economists believe that if the goal is to reach a faster rate of economic growth and a lower unemployment rate, then citizens should be ready to experience higher rates of inflation.
The belief was that there is a tradeoff between inflation and unemployment. The lower the unemployment rate, the higher is the rate of inflation. Conversely, the higher the unemployment rate the lower the rate of inflation is going to be. The stagflation of 1970s, then, was a big surprise to most economic commentators.
In the late 1960s, Edmund Phelps and Milton Friedman (P-F) challenged the popular view that there can be a sustainable tradeoff between inflation and unemployment. In fact, over time, according to P-F, loose central bank policies set the platform for lower economic growth and a higher rate of inflation; i.e., stagflation.
The P-F Explanation of Stagflation
Starting from a situation of equality between the current and the expected rate of inflation, the central bank decides to boost the rate of economic growth by raising the growth rate of money supply. As a result, a greater supply of money enters the economy and each individual now has more money at his disposal. Because of this increase, every individual believes he has become wealthier. This raises the demand for goods and services, which in turn sets in motion an increase in the production of goods and services.
This increases producers’ demands for workers and, subsequently, unemployment falls below the equilibrium rate, which both Phelps and Friedman labeled the natural rate. Once the unemployment rate falls below the equilibrium rate, this exerts upward pressure on price inflation. According to P-F, individuals realize there has been a general loosening of the money supply, so people form higher inflation expectations, and individuals realize that their previous increase in purchasing power now is dwindling.
This weakens overall demand for goods and services which, in turn, weakens overall demand, which then slows the production of goods and services, pushing unemployment higher. Note that we are now back with respect to unemployment and economic growth to where we were prior to the central bank’s decision to loosen its monetary stance, but now with a much higher rate of inflation.
Consequently, we have a decline in the production of goods and services and a rise in unemployment, along with an increase in price inflation: stagflation. From this, P-F concluded that as long as the increase in the money supply growth rate is unexpected, the central bank can engineer an increase in the rate of economic growth.
However, once people learn about the increase in the money supply and assess the implications of this increase, they adjust their conduct accordingly. Not surprisingly, the temporary boost to the economy from the increase in the money supply disappears. In order to overcome this hurdle and strengthen the rate of economic growth, the central bank would have to surprise individuals through a much higher pace of monetary pumping.
However, after a time lag, people learn about this increase and adjust their conduct accordingly. Consequently, the effect of the higher growth rate of money supply on the economy will likely vanish again and a much higher inflation rate is all that remains. From this, P-F concluded loose monetary policies can only temporarily generate economic growth, and over time, such policies will result in higher price inflation. Thus, according to P-F, there is no long-term trade-off between inflation and unemployment.
Money Supply Increases Always Undermine Growth
In a market economy, a producer exchanges his product for money and then exchanges that money for other products. Alternatively, we can say that exchanges of something for something take place by means of money. Also, in order for the exchange among producers to take place, these producers must have produced useful goods and services.
However, things are different once money is generated out of “thin air” due to central bank policies and fractional reserve banking. Once money out of “thin air” is employed, it sets in motion an exchange of nothing for something, amounting to a diversion of wealth from wealth generators to the holders of newly generated money.
Increases in money supply in the modern world imply increases in the money out of nothing, and the supplier of new money obtains it by exchanging nothing for it, no goods or services. Hence, we have here an exchange of nothing for money. Once the money out of “thin air” is exchanged for the products of wealth generators, it amounts to an exchange of nothing for something.
The holder of such money obtains final goods and services without contributing directly or indirectly to the pool of such goods and services or to the pool of wealth. This means that wealth is diverted from wealth producers to the holders of newly created money. Thus, the holders of new money consume goods and services without any contribution to the production of goods and services. In the process, genuine wealth generators are left with fewer goods and services at their disposal, which in turn weakens their ability to grow the economy.
Note that an exchange of nothing for something creates a diversion of wealth, and is going to take place regardless of whether the increase in money supply is expected or unexpected. This means that even if money expansion is expected, it still is going to undermine economic growth.
Then What Causes Stagflation?
Increases in money supply set in motion an exchange of nothing for something which, in turn, diverts wealth from wealth generators to non-wealth generators. This weakens the wealth generation process, which weakens economic growth.
Note that the price of a good is the amount of money paid for the good. When new money enters a market, it means that more money is paid for the good in this market, which increases the price of this good. Once the good is perceived as fully valued, the money leaves to other markets. Hence, money moves from one market to another market. Over time, an increase in money supply manifests itself through increases in the prices of goods and services.
This creates a situation in which increases in money supply undermine the process of wealth generation, damaging economic growth. At the same time, we have more money per goods, which means that the prices of goods are higher than before the increase in money supply took place. Thus, the increase in goods prices along with weaker economic growth, which we define as stagflation.
Stagflation is the end result of monetary pumping. Therefore, whenever the central bank adopts an easy monetary stance, it also sets in motion stagflation in the future. Now, for P-F and most economists, the criteria for accepting a theory is a supporting statistical correlation. It is because of the visible stagflation of the 1970s that the P-F’s theory of stagflation gained wide support.
The fact that over time a strengthening in the monetary growth may not always manifest through visible stagflation does not refute what we conclude regarding the consequences of increases in monetary pumping upon economic growth and prices.5 A theory that relies only on observed correlations is simply an exercise in curve fitting. What matters for the state of an economy is not the manifestation of stagflation, but rather increases in the money supply out of “thin air.”
The severity of stagflation depends upon the condition of the current pool of wealth. If the wealth pool is declining, then a visible decline in economic activity is likely to ensue. Moreover, because of past monetary pumping and the consequent increase in price inflation, we see visible stagflation. Conversely, if the pool of wealth is still growing, some economic activity is likely to follow. Given the rising momentum of prices, there will be a positive correlation between economic activity and price inflation.
We conclude that if we do not observe the symptoms of stagflation after the central bank has pumped new money into the economy, this means that the pool of wealth is still growing. Conversely, if we stagflation, then most likely the pool of wealth is declining.
Conclusions
Increases in the money supply set in motion an exchange of nothing for something, transferring resources from wealth generators to non-wealth generators. Consequently, this weakens both the wealth generation process and the pace of economic activity. When new money enters goods markets, it means there is more money per goods, which increases their prices. Therefore, we have an increase in goods prices along with a weakening of economic growth.
This is what stagflation is about. Monetary pumping over time always results in stagflation, although it often is not immediately visible. As the pool of wealth comes under pressure, however, the phenomenon of stagflation becomes all too real.
The Uvalde school district police chief was well aware students and a teacher were still alive inside a Robb Elementary classroom where a gunman had already killed multiple children.
Chief Pete Arredondo was uneasy with the time it took to procure shields for officers and find keys to the classroom where the gunman was holding injured and terrified children for more than an hour, according to the New York Times.
According to the report, Arredondo waited 40 minutes after officers first approached the classroom door and were shot at before authorizing a breach.
Arredondo was aware that a teacher, the wife of one of his officers, was injured and still alive inside the classroom and knew students were wounded and alive.
“People are going to ask why we’re taking so long,” Arredondo said at the scene, according to a transcript of body camera footage. “We’re trying to preserve the rest of the life,” he continued.
According to the report, well before the breach, Arredondo said, “We think there are some injuries in there… we cleared off the rest of the building so we wouldn’t have any more, besides what’s already in there, obviously.”
According to the report, Arredondo did not begin to discuss entering the classroom until 12:21 p.m., 48 minutes after the gunman entered the school at 11:33 a.m.
“We’re ready to breach, but that door is locked,” he said at about 12:30 p.m.
“If there’s kids in there, we need to go in there,” officers said as they became impatient, according to the report.
At 12:46 p.m., Arredondo reportedly said, “If y’all are ready to do it, you do it.”
While the Department of Justice is still investigating the events of that day in Uvalde, Texas, it has become clear that the local authorities failed to respond quickly and accurately to tragic events that left 21 dead.

As you might have guessed from some of the articles I have written this year, I have been going down a slow-motion camera rabbit hole. On a forum for the Chronos high-speed camera, I came across a user’s video recording airsoft guns in high speed. What caught my attention was a peculiar event when he shot semi-automatic gas blowback pistols that have reciprocating slides. As the slide reciprocates back, the pistol exhibits muzzle dip. I was confused by what I was seeing so I investigated further.
SlowMo Luke on YouTube posted a montage of various airsoft guns shooting in slow motion. What interested me was what happens when he shoots semi-automatic pistols that have reciprocating slides.
To my surprise, the muzzle dip even happens on the toggle-locked golden Luger P08, however, I did not see muzzle dip when he shoots the revolver. So this seems to only affect handguns with some sort of reciprocating slide or action like the Luger.

Science Time! Perform Experiments
I decided to test this myself. I showed the video to some gun friends of mine who were former airsoft enthusiasts and they too never noticed muzzle dip in airsoft handguns. We thought maybe the muzzle dip was due to a limp wrist by SlowMo Luke?
I have one of SIG Sauer’s ProForce M17 gas blowback pistols so I tested this myself using my Chronos camera. Apparently it has nothing to do with limp wristing a pistol.
Watch my video above. We can break down the action in the following three sequences which result in some movement of the muzzle:
Gun shoots and slide reciprocates. Muzzle dip occurs.
Slide travels to the rear and bottoms out on the recoil spring causing rearward recoil and muzzle climb.
Slide closes forward causing forward recoil and muzzle dip again.
Look For Other Examples And More Data Points
I tried to wrap my head around what is happening in Step 1. Steps 2 and 3 make sense but the first step eludes me. Why does this happen? Is it exclusive to airsoft guns? I posted my video on Instagram and Dustin Ellerman of TopShot Dustin responded that he noticed a similar issue using a Coolfire Dryfire CO2 training barrel. The Coolfire barrel is a drop-in training barrel that lets you dry fire your firearm at the cost of CO2. If you don’t want to watch the entire video, scrub past to 2:20 in his video and he filmed both the Coolfire barrel and 9mm barrel side by side.

So far, these seem to happen in non-firearms like airsoft and the Coolfire barrel. What about blank-firing guns? I found a slow-motion video of a Umarex Gen 5 Glock 17 chambered in 9mm PAK.
Sure enough, you can see the muzzle dip as the slide reciprocates before the slide hits the end of its travel.

Final Thoughts Of Muzzle Dip
So that comes to three different styles of semi-automatic handguns with reciprocating slides that all exhibit muzzle dip. Airsoft, CO2 training barrel and blank firing pistols. It seems universal to guns that do not shoot a projectile. The low back pressure from an airsoft BB does not count and it seems to be something to do with the reciprocating slide. Can any of you readers explain what is happening here? Why does muzzle dip occur? Why does it only happen with a reciprocating slide pistol? I want to understand what is happening here but it is above my layman comprehension of physics to figure this out on my own. Also, a smartphone slow motion is not really fast enough to capture the muzzle dip of blank fire guns. But you might be able to capture it on an airsoft gun. Please comment below if you have some insights into this physics puzzle.
