Beretta owners rejoice! Ernest Langdon at Langdon Tactical has provided a solution to a problem many 92 owners face, namely, proper mounting of optics. For years the solution has been dovetail mounted plates but those faced the problem of sitting far too high above the bore and looking out of place on any handgun. Thankfully […]
A video posted on Twitter on September 26th reportedly shows Italian police officers taking off their riot gear and standing down in a show of solidarity after being confronted by a large group of anti-vaccine mandate protestors.
Members of the crowd erupted into applause and cheers as the police officers removed their helmets and took off their chest coverings.
Italy’s COVID passport mandate went into effect on October 1st, 2021, requiring all government and private-sector workers to show either proof of vaccination against the China Virus, a negative COVID test, or a recent recovery from COVID, or else they will be suspended from their jobs without pay.
Italians who ignore the mandate and choose to work without showing a health pass will be fined between $705-$1,175.
Based on this massive authoritarian overreach, it is clear that Italy’s prime minister Mario Draghi must be a fan of WW2-era fascist Italian dictator Benito Mussolini.
It’s so sad that millions of brave soldiers sacrificed their lives in WW2 to defeat fascism just to see it be implemented in Italy once again over a virus with a 99.9+% survival rate.
It is Friday and you know what that means, night vision show and tell. This week we have some new stuff coming from Nocturn Industries. They are releasing a night vision monocular night called Tanto. Nocturn has also been busy upgrading Crye Airframe helmets with their M-LOK rails. As always, the Friday Night Lights series is […]
Earlier this month, without warning, the taxpayers of Kimberling City found out that the police department they have been paying for “protection,” no longer wished to serve them. The entire department, including the police chief and every single officer on the force, turned in their resignation letters and abandoned their positions.
The move caught the entire town, including the mayor and the sheriff off guard as there was no warning given or demands made prior to the mass exodus.
“Have I ever said no to you guys? No, I haven’t. So how can I explain this right here? I have no idea,” said Mayor Bob Fritz, who told Ozarks First that he was shocked and disappointed when he received police chief Craig Alexander’s resignation letter.
Since the 23 of August, the town has been without a police chief and days later, the rest of the department followed suit. The mayor says he is working on filling the positions.
“A mutual aid agreement with Stone County Sheriffs Office and the City of Branson West in that they’ll assist Kimberling City until our police department is at full capacity. As of today, we have eight resumes and some of them are unbelievable. And like I told the city administrator, start setting up interviews and everything too. I think we can have this taken care of this, I’m hoping in the next few weeks or so.”
“It will be a struggle to fill the police department back up with qualified officers, but hopefully they can start working on that soon and get that accomplished,” Stone County Sheriff Doug Rader said of the resignations. “Until then we will be answering all the calls in Kimberling City, we can’t enforce city ordinances, but any other calls we will be handling at this time.”
After they resigned, the officers and the chief cited a low pay rate and not having the proper tools to do the job.
As we reported in July, according to a recent report from Police Executive Research Forum (PERF), police departments from coast to coast are having an extremely difficult time keeping officers on the force. The staggering numbers have many alarmed, but is it really cause for concern?
Perf reports that the rate of retirements at some departments rose 45% compared with the previous year. According to the group’s research, at the same time, hiring slowed by 5%. Using the rise in violent crime across the country and these startling rates as the impetus behind a new spending plan, president Joe Biden recently approved the use of $350 billion in Covid-19 relief funding to hire more law enforcement personnel.
Though calls for police accountability have been becoming louder over the last few years, the movement sparked by the murder of George Floyd set off a powder keg which has led to historical reform from coast to coast. As a result of the push to be held accountable for their actions, cops are upset and are leaving the force in record numbers.
Naturally, police are playing the victim here and claiming the calls to hold them accountable amount to a war on cops and this is driving them out.
While the town struggles to fill positions of their police force, it is important to point out that people aren’t going around breaking the law without cops to stop them — thus highlighting the revenue collection mission of police.
Drug offenses, parking violations, and traffic citations are not so much crimes, as they are streams of revenue for the city. They are also the reason for the majority of police harassment within particular communities; harassment that is being proven entirely unnecessary as the town continues to function just fine without cops.
What’s more, the idea that police protect you is a misconception, as they will seldom prevent violence. They normally show up after the violence or crime has been committed and then try and find a culprit, or not.
The reality is that police act as revenue collectors for the state and solely exist to enforce the law only.
In a perfect world, police would show up prior to a crime and stop it, or at least during a crime, but this is simply not a reality.
Police in America also do not “protect and serve.” If you doubt this claim simply refer to Warren v. District of Columbia, in which the Supreme Court ruled that the police do not have a constitutional duty to protect a person from harm.
Imagine a police force that acted more like firefighters or EMTs. Firefighters don’t have to go door to door looking for fires, in order to be effective. EMTs, just like firefighters wait for a call before reacting and their services are oft proven invaluable contrary to that of police work. Perhaps this recent mass resignation can be used to channel this notion to the forefront and completely revamp the idea of policing in the land of the free. Perhaps.
Justice Sonia Sotomayor on Friday denied a request from a group of New York City teachers to block the city’s vaccine mandate for public school employees.
Sotomayor did not refer the request to the other Supreme Court justices, or comment on her action, likely signaling they agreed with her decision. In August, Justice Amy Coney Barrett likewise rejected an effort to block Indiana University’s vaccine mandate.
In court papers, lawyers for the teachers argued that New York City, as well as the Department of Education and the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, have placed an “unconstitutional burden” on public school teachers. They wanted the high court to block the mandate while the appeals process played out.
Joe Biden was forced to scramble to Capitol Hill Friday afternoon to discuss the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill currently stuck in the House.
Biden barely works so for him to make a trip up to The Hill on a Friday afternoon to meet with the House Democrat Caucus shows just how desperate he is to make something happen.
Biden ignored reporters as he shuffled into a meeting with members of the Democrat Caucus.
Before going into the meeting, Joe Biden grabbed Pelosi’s hand like a nursing home patient and assured bystanders the deal would eventually get done.
“We’re going to get this done. It doesn’t matter when. It doesn’t matter whether it’s in six minutes, six days, or six weeks. We’re going to get it done,” said Biden.
According to reporters present in the caucus meeting, at the end of his remarks, Joe Biden offered to take questions from members but his aides jumped in and stopped him.
Biden did not take any questions from Democrat lawmakers.
INSIDE the caucus:
At the end of his remarks, BIDEN offered to take questions from members but his staff jumped in.
According to a Politico reporter, Biden’s message inside the meeting: “Even a smaller bill can make historic investments,” Biden said of Dems’ social spending bill.
The infrastructure bill “ain’t going to happen until we reach an agreement on the next piece of legislation.”
One more BIDEN message to Dems:
“Let’s try to figure out what we are for in reconciliation… and then we can move ahead,” he said.
Just 24 hours ago White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said Joe Biden will work with Democrat lawmakers this weekend to get the infrastructure deal done.
“Uh, we’re open. He’s available. He’s been making calls this morning. He’s open to having visitors. He’s open to going places,” Psaki said.
But he won’t take any questions because his staffers won’t let him.
“The Big Short” investor Michael Burry blasted the Federal Reserve for its trading scandal, underlined the inflation threat using Costco, and deleted his Twitter account yet again this week.
“Bond & stock markets depend on a Fed stripped of all credibility,” Burry said in a now-deleted tweet. He cited the central bank’s mismanagement of the global financial crisis, its decision to cut interest rates three times in 2019, and the revelation this month that two of its regional presidents, Robert Kaplan and Eric Rosengren, traded stocks and other securities last year.
The Scion Asset Management chief attached a screenshot of Kaplan’s latest financial-disclosure form, which showed the official traded millions of dollars’ worth of Tesla, Chevron, Johnson & Johnson, and other stocks in 2020. Both Kaplan and Rosengren announced their resignations this week, the latter citing health issues.
Burry – who has warned of a huge market bubble and predicted the “mother of all crashes” is coming in recent months – also rang the inflation alarm. “Inflationary mindset is not something you’d want to short,” he tweeted. “Ask Costco.”
Costco’s finance chief, Richard Galanti, noted the rising cost of goods such as oil, coffee, and nuts during the big-box retailer’s earnings call last week. He listed a raft of inflationary pressures including higher labor, freight, and commodity prices. He also noted shortages of containers and products such as computer chips, greater transportation demand, and delays at shipping ports. “It’s a lot of fun right now,” he quipped.
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki on Friday blamed Republicans after Pelosi was forced to delay a vote on the infrastructure bill due to infighting with the progressive members of the Democrat caucus.
Democrats have control of the both chambers of Congress and the White House yet they still can’t pass the $1.2 trillion ‘infrastructure’ bill currently stuck in the House.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was forced to delay a vote on the $1.2 trillion ‘bipartisan’ infrastructure bill Thursday evening.
The progressives derailed Pelosi’s planned vote because they want to vote on the $1.2 trillion bill at the same time the senate votes on the $3.5 trillion reconciliation bill.
Democrat Senators Manchin and Sinema are refusing to sign on to the $3.5 trillion bill so Pelosi took the loss on Thursday.
Democrats don’t even need Republicans to pass this bill yet Psaki is blaming Republicans.
“Aren’t progressives squarely to blame for the furlough that’s happening right now?” a reporter asked Psaki.
“Every member of congress is a free citizen who could vote to support this infrastructure bill, including Republicans. They could come support it,” Psaki said.
“We haven’t seen any real courage from the Republicans side in the House,” she added.

Douglas County, Atlanta – A 30-year-old woman this week was charged with 8 counts of making terroristic threats in the Brookmont subdivision of Douglasville.
For nearly a year, Terresha Lucas left threatening, racially charged notes in black people’s mailboxes on Manning Drive.
Lucas, a black woman, pretended to be a white male member of the Ku Klux Klan and described herself as 6 feet tall with a long red beard.
“Residents on Manning Drive began receiving the notes last December from a person who claimed to be a white male member of the Ku Klux Klan, who threatened to burn down their homes and kill them, according to detectives with the Douglasville Police Department.” the police said.
“Instead, their investigation led them to Terresha Lucas, a 30-year-old African-American female, who was charged with eight counts of making terroristic threats this month. Accused of writing and placing the notes in her neighbors’ boxes, Lucas allegedly described herself as a six-feet-tall white male with a long, red beard who did not live in the neighborhood.” they added.
It was all a hoax.
Lucas is expected to turn herself in and faces up to 8 months in jail.
