Bergara sister company CVA continues to roll out new bolt action rifles and muzzleloaders. Their new Cascade XT and Paramount Pro V2 were both present at Industry Day At The Range of SHOT Show 2023.
[SHOT 2023] New CVA Cascade XT And Paramount Pro Models
The Cascade series of rifles are made in Spain. The newest model is the Cascade XT (for X-Treme), which incorporates features from precision rifles. Its barrel is a heavier #5 contour for extra rigidity and a radial brake is attached to the 5/8×24 threaded muzzle. The Cascade XT also has an oversized bolt handle for easier manipulation.
One unique feature is a 1″ spacer between the recoil pad and stock. With the spacer removed, the stock has a length of pull usually seen on youth hunter models. Youth have a habit of growing out of youth-model guns, and the spacer can be added back in when needed. The Cascade XT has an MSRP of $799 and is in stock at retailers at the time of writing.
CVA’s booth on the show floor also had Cerakoted Veil camo Cascades. These feature a camouflage stock and a Cerakoted receiver and barrel. Options in 6.5 PRC and .350 Legend were on display but other calibers are available too.
CVA also had their Paramount Pro V2 muzzleloader on display. New for 2023, the V2 is lighter than previous models. Part of that weight savings comes from using a Grayboe stock with an adjustable cheekpiece. The .50 caliber version of the V2 features Williams open sights for states that prohibit optics on muzzleloaders, such as Colorado. MSRP is $1920 and it is coming soon.
From the manufacturer:
The CASCADE XT (X-Treme) is our new “precision-oriented” member of the CASCADE family. Several key features make it the perfect multiple purpose rifle for many hunters.
First, the heavier # 5 taper fluted barrel adds stability and improves balance, while also allowing the rapid firing of multiple shots without accuracy loss due to excessive barrel heating. Next, our radial muzzle brake greatly reduces recoil, making the XT very comfortable to shoot both on the range and in the field, even in heavier calibers. And lastly, the XT’s tactical-style bolt knob provides better leverage for faster manipulation of the bolt, especially from the prone position.
