14-Year-Old Son of Philadelphia Pizza Shop Employee Shoots Armed Robber in the Face to Protect his Mother

A 14-year-old son of a Philadelphia pizza shop employee shot an armed robber in the face last Thursday night to protect his parent.

According to police, a 14-year-old boy took matters into his own hands after an armed robber lunged over the pizza shop counter and began to strangle his mother.

The teenage boy shot the would-be robber in the face, who then managed run off and make it a few blocks away before police caught up with him.

Police officers followed a blood trail from Brick Oven Pizza in Spring Garden to the subway entrance around the corner, ABC 6 reported.

The suspect, a 33-year-old male who also took part in an attempted armed robbery at a CVS store two blocks away, was located and taken into custody.

Two other robbery suspects are still at large.
