Gone are the days when the military trained men to go to war; today, there is no more yelling allowed in basic training. Instead, drill instructors are now encouraged to be friendly, to be mentors, and to think about the trainee’s feelings.
In a world that no longer wants to work or get their hands dirty, the U.S. military, under Democrat leadership, has shifted focus from training deadly warriors to hand-holding and coddling new recruits.
As a result of the “pandemic,” a new “Yellow” phrase was added to Army basic training. The yellow phase is the result of a reordering of basic training schedules during the pandemic, a so-called rethinking by the armed forces of how NCOs should bring the COVID generation into the military.
No more punishments with push-ups; NCOs have been asked to help trainees tackle mental challenges and talk through their problems. They are even being encouraged to remove their signature hats because they make the next generation feel bad and nervous.
Removing Patriots in Basic Training
In December, the Pentagon issued new guidelines to root out “extremism”; in actuality, it’s nothing but an attempt to purge the military of all patriotic Americans.
Basic training will now focus on tackling social issues and rooting out sexual assault, harassment, racism, and political extremism. For example, at Fort Jackson — one of the Army’s main basic training centers — Lt. Col. Larry Steward’s pilot program of naming “SASH influencers” (for students against sexual harassment) in each unit is expanding to cover all recruit platoons.
In the Air Force, it’s no longer about flying planes or defending your country; it’s now about social justice and accepting trannies as your bunkmate!
“I don’t believe we’re here to break down people; I’m not going to tolerate that,” said Col. Jeff Pixley, commander of the Air Force training center.
“When I get up to speak to them, I’ll say I don’t care if come here with deeply held beliefs, but if you tell me you can’t work with someone because they’re a different gender or a different race or because they are transgender, and if that’s what you say — I say you can get on the bus back home,” he said.
Navy training goes woke?
Earlier this year, the Navy announced they were adding two extra weeks of training to focus on “behavior” and treating people with respect.
Rear Adm. Jennifer Couture, who heads the Naval Service Training Command, told the Associated Press that the two extra weeks of classes would reinforce the behavior desired in a US naval officer. The additional two weeks will be devoted to the ‘Sailor for Life’ course phase where recruits would take in mentorship classes focused on avoiding bad behavior.
U.S. service members have spent a total of 5,889,082 on WOKE Training!
According to General Mark Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, U.S. service members have spent a total of 5,889,082 man-hours on the February 5, 2021, extremism “stand-down” and on “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” training, including critical race theory, since President Biden took office.
General Milley provided the data in response to a letter from the senators requesting details about the costs and readiness effects of the Administration’s progressive social agenda.
U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, R-Miss., a member of the Senate Armed Services Committe warned, “We face real threats across the world, yet the Biden administration is more focused on promoting its leftist social agenda in the military instead of countering China, Russia and Iran or creating an effective counterterrorism plan.”
Defense Department to Monitor Language military personal uses on Social Media
According to the Heritage Foundation, The Defense Department is now considering hiring a private company to monitor the free speech of military personal on social media, using key words or algorithms that by their very nature reflect the perspective of those who select the words and write the algorithms.
According to the Intercept, the Biden administration’s crackdown on “domestic extremism”, the Pentagon plans to launch a pilot program for screening social media content for extremist material.
An extremism steering committee led by Bishop Garrison, a senior adviser to the secretary of defense, is currently designing the social media screening pilot program, which will “continuously” monitor military personnel for “concerning behaviors,” according to a Pentagon briefing in late March. Although in the past the military has balked at surveilling service members for extremist political views due to First Amendment protections, the pilot program will rely on a private surveillance firm in order to circumvent First Amendment restrictions on government monitoring, according to a senior Pentagon official. Though the firm has not yet been selected, the current front runner is Babel Street, a company that sells powerful surveillance tools including social media monitoring software.
The Defense Department hinted at the program in an April 9 press release about its Countering Extremism Working Group, which it says will make recommendations on “incorporating machine learning and natural language processing into social media screening platforms,” as well as “ensure training addresses issues raised by commanders and supervisors on ‘gray areas’ such as reading, following, and liking extremist material and content in social media forums and platforms.”
