Have you ever wondered if an electric motorcycle can really go the distance off the highway? Well, they can. And Tucker Neary has proof.
Riding two Zero DSR electric motorcycles, Tucker and his friend, Mark, traveled and documented over 1,000 miles in seven days along the rough and rugged Colorado Backcountry Discovery Route. They wanted to prove such a feat could be done by using public charging infrastructure and without the need for tows or generators.
Unlike motorcycles powered by gas, DSR riders can’t carry extra fuel. That’s what makes Tucker and Mark’s endeavor especially unique—one wrong turn could mean the difference between making it to the next charging station, or not.
Watch the 24-minute documentary below and let me know what you think; would you try a Zero DSR electric motorcycle in the backcountry?
