Overland Classifieds :: 2005 Toyota Land Cruiser HZJ79 with Uro-Camper

The European overlanding scene is arguably more mature than ours here in North America. With easy access to Africa, Central Asia, and the Middle East, there is a rich history of vehicle-based travel and countless tales of Europeans exploring areas that are geographically more challenging for us to get to. Europeans also have access to a variety of lust-worthy vehicles and unique camper options, including this 2005 Toyota Land Cruiser HZJ79 and Uro-Camper now available for purchase.

Uro-Camper is based out of Sevilla, Spain, and specializes in custom camper builds. In 2015, Brandon Libby wrote a profile about the company on Expedition Portal, which you can read more about here.

From Kirsten:

“This vehicle is for serious explorers. Built by my brother, a competitive round-the-world sailor and boat builder, every extra ounce of superfluous weight has been removed. Even the weight of the paint was taken into account. It is functional, spartan, and practical.

The cabin is independent of the truck, making it possible to leave it on its stands and use the truck. It is a vehicle for those adventurers who don’t need the creature comforts that less hard-core vehicles might offer. It is an off-road workhorse that won’t let you down traveling through deserts, snow, tropical forests, or mountains. This is what I love about it—no bells and whistles, but everything that one would need to travel safely and confidently off-road through Africa.”
