White House Offers Nicki Minaj “Educational” Phone Call to Set Her Straight on Appropriate Thinking under the Regime

Nicki Minaj continues to make headlines after urging people to “pray on it” and not let people bully you into getting a vaccine if it is not right for you.
Minaj said yesterday that she was locked out of her Twitter account after she retweeted Tucker Carlson which is not allowed.

Nicki Minaj is feeling what it’s like when you are a prominent entertainer and you stray from the plantation.

The Marxist-globalist thugs in the White House are not having it. This is not allowed.
They want to stop her before she redpills her almost 200 MILLION followers (22 million on Twitter & 157 million on Instagram).

The White House even contacted Nicki Minaj to “educate” her on appropriate thinking on vaccines for black people.

Newsmax reported:

The White House has offered to arrange a phone call between Nicki Minaj and one of its doctors, multiple U.S. outlets reported, after the rapper sparked widespread derision over claims a cousin’s friend had become impotent after receiving a COVID-19 vaccine.

Minaj on Wednesday claimed she had been invited to the White House in the wake of her viral tweets about an unnamed acquaintance in her native Trinidad and Tobago — an invitation she said she accepted.

But a White House official told multiple U.S. outlets that Minaj had only been offered an educational phone call.

“As we have with others, we offered a call with Nicki Minaj and one of our doctors to answer questions she has about the safety and effectiveness of the vaccine,” the official said.

The Grammy-nominated rapper sparked a media storm Monday when she said she had skipped New York’s star-studded Met Gala this week due to its requirement that attendees be vaccinated, saying she would only get the shot once she had “done enough research.”

She said a friend of a cousin in Trinidad had experienced swollen testicles after getting the vaccine — claims that sparked a formal rebuttal from the Caribbean nation’s health minister.

Lawyer Wins Mask Mandate Lawsuit in Two Illinois School Districts

On Wednesday, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, Thomas Devore had successfully argued in two separate County courts for two separate school districts that mask mandates constitute a form of quarantine under Illinois law and that mask mandates can only be issued by the local health department.

Devore is methodically taking cases to court to break down the power the schools have taken regarding quarantine rules. The state defines all of these things as a form of quarantine, which by law requires a court order: quarantine (keeping kids out of school for a time), masks, testing for disease, and vaccines.

One of those school districts is the Teutopolis School District in Effingham County, the same school district that confined five students in isolation in separate rooms for several hours for not wearing a mask as a way of protesting the school’s mask mandate. You can read the rest here:

Paragraph A in the order states, “While the Children are on school property, the Defendants, are enjoined from requiring any or all of the Children to utilize any type of device, including a mask, for the purposes of allegedly preventing the spread of an infectious disease unless an order of quarantine has issues against any or all of the Children from the local health department as required by the Illinois State Board of Education.”

Edgar County Watchdogs has a report on this:

The Chief Judge of the Fourth Circuit, Judge Douglas L. Jarman, issued a Temporary Restraining Order, for 30 days, this morning against the Teutopolis Unit 50 School District as it pertains to mask mandates.

It was argued successfully by Tom DeVore that a mask is a device intended, allegedly, to limit disease transmission. That being the case, the authority to place such a device on a person is limited to the power give within the laws established for quarantine through the local health departments.

The judge issued the TRO based on the following: the children have rights, masking constitutes quarantine, a mask mandate creates irreparable harm, the Plaintiff would likely succeed on the merits.

The other school district that was given a TRO for 30 days is the Carlyle School District in Clinton County. The entire school district is free from masks and this applies to all students.

Paragraph A on the court order states, “While the Children are on school property, the Defendants, are enjoined from requiring any or all of the Children who attend within the school district to utilize any type of device, including a mask, for the purposes of allegedly preventing the spread of an infectious disease unless an order of quarantine has issues against any or all of the Children from the local health department as required by the Illinois State Board of Education.”

A happy parent was thanking Devore for all his hard work in fighting unconstitutional mandates saying, “Off to school, mask free. Thank you, Thomas DeVore!.” Then Devore reposted the post with a caption, “Seeing pictures like this makes the stress all worth it. Go save the world young man!!!”

Devore previously won cases on quarantine, moves on to masks, now is eyeing up testing and vaccines. He’s one of the only people in the state pushing back against Pritzker and winning.

He is running for election for judge of the Illinois 5th District Appellate Court. DeVore declared candidacy for the 2022 election.

Here is the video where he discussed masks and vaccine mandates:

‘Justice For J6’ Rally Organizer: Ashley Babbitt And The Political Prisoners Deserve Justice And We Are Going To Get It For Them

As legitimate terror threats fester overseas, hundreds of patriots who are deemed domestic terrorists and insurrectionists by the Biden administration and mainstream media.  These Americans continue to languish in jail for protesting the fraud-ridden 2020 election on Capitol Hill on January 6.

On Saturday, over 700 patriots are expected to gather in the nation’s capital and peacefully demand the political prisoners be released.

Biden’s Justice Department will continue to strong-arm the will of the American people and disregard the rule of law, until We The People draw the line, Matt Baynard, organizer of the “Justice for J6”  rally, told the Gateway Pundit in an exclusive interview.

“We are holding the rally to bring attention to the hundreds of political prisoners that are being held by this administration – who are being charged with things like trespassing or parading and engaged in no violence on January 6, destroyed no property,” he said. “Yet, they are being held in prison for nine months without the opportunity for bail. They have been abused, they have been beaten, they have been denied medical care. They have been denied access to their attorneys. They are routinely abused verbally, physically. It’s dire.

“But they are hanging in there and we are going to do everything we can to bring public pressure for them to be released. At the very least, on bail, because most of them have not been charged with anything violent and still they sit in prison. Many of them are military veterans, many of them have clean records.

The 700 plus patriots attending the rally are also demanding justice for Ashley Babbitt, the unarmed Air Force veteran who was killed by Capitol Police Lt. Michael Byrd on Jan 6.

“It is wrong for a police department to clear itself in the shooting of an unarmed citizen. We believe there needs to be an investigation into all the decisions that led to that officer pulling the trigger and killing Ashley Babbitt,” Baynard argued. “She deserves justice and that’s what we are going to get for her.”

Trump supporters and family members of the January 6 political prisoners have told the Gateway Pundit that they are reluctant to take to the streets in Washington, DC after the government’s conspired effort to incriminate protesters in January.

Many who are struggling to make ends meet as their husbands suffer in jail fear the government may conspire an event on Saturday that could result in their incarceration, a risk parents of small children cannot take.

But the masses must unify to stand for justice, or the government will continue to shred the constitution, argued Baynard, former Trump campaign’s former director of data and strategy and founder of the non-profit organization Look Ahead America.

Baynard assures he has coordinated with law enforcement ahead of the event to prevent any situation like Jan. 6 from remotely transpiring.

“Some will not go. Some will go. We have many family members who will be speaking from the stage, testifying to the travesty inflicted upon their family members. We are going to do everything we can to keep our people safe. We have been cooperating with all the different police departments in the area,” he said. “We have our own security team there as well and we have a slew of volunteers who are also going to keep everybody safe. We are going to say in large groups. We are going to leave in large groups. That’s our plan to keep everybody safe.”

While the Department of Justice guns hard for January 6th “rioters,” BLM and Antifa “protestors” – not so much.

Every Trump rally in Washington throughout 2019 to 2020 involved violence by Antifa and Black Lives Matter – whether it was the “Demand Free Speech” rally on July 6, 2019,  the closing night of the Republican Convention at the White House on August 27, 2020, or the “Million MAGA March” on November 14, 2020.

The events on Jan. 6 resulted in approximately $1.5 million worth of damage to the Capitol, The Washington Post reports. Following the death of George Floyd, BLM and Antifa riots and looting resulted in over $2 billion in property damage, according to The New York Post.

The American people, even Democrat voters, are beginning to see the double standard, Baynard explained.

“Historically, people engaged in exactly the same kind of behavior and were arrested and released the same day – maybe they were issued a thirty or forty dollar fine. We saw this when Alexandria Ocasio Cortez stormed the Speaker’s office and led a sit-in. We saw this during the Kavanaugh hearings, where protesters stormed the Senate office building and continually interrupted the business of government during the hearings. Again, they were hit with small fines, at worst, and released,” he said. “Nearly a majority of Americans agree with us. We have to continue to push that number up. We are continuing to make the public aware. The more they hear about it, the more they realize they are on our side.”

“Protesting is one of the tools that we have. We must pressure our national legislators to take action against the Department of Justice. By going to the Capitol, and continuing to raise public awareness of this issue, we will succeed. These people have been turned into domestic terrorists, had their lives destroyed – lost their homes, lost their savings, gone into bankruptcy. What’s the difference? They did exactly the same thing as the others. They are being persecuted, not because of their behavior, because of their political beliefs.”

According to a Rasmussen poll published Tuesday, “49 percent of Likely U.S. Voters agree that protesters arrested during the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol are being held as ‘political prisoners,’ including 30 percent who Strongly Agree.”

Notably, 45 percent of Democrats agree that the more than 500 arrested are political prisoners.

The mainstream media, in lockstep with Democrat leadership, are crafting a façade around Justice for J6 protest outside the U.S. Capitol on Saturday. Subsequently, the US Capitol Police are reinstalling perimeter fencing around the Capitol.

Additionally, Capitol Police said in a statement Monday that its board “issued an emergency declaration, which will go into effect about the time of the demonstration and allow the Department to deputize outside law enforcement officers as the United States Capitol Police Special Officers.”

“They are trying to discourage people from going. They are a part of the left-wing institution, the leftwing ruling class that dominates this country. To them, what we are attempting to do on Sept. 18 is worse than what they ever imagined.” Baynard said. “What they fear is an America First right, organized, orderly, peacefully exercising their First Amendment rights to petition the government for justice.  What they’d like to see is some idiot doing something violent because you can just send the FBI after them and spear an entire movement with it. What they are terrified of is what we are doing – peaceful protests.”

The rally will take place from 12:00pm est to 1:15 pm est at Union Square in Washington, DC located between 1st and 3rd Streets NW/SW.

Look Ahead America will also be hosting rallies to free the political prisoners at state capitols across the country throughout September.

23 Best Prepping Quotes From History To Motivate & Inspire

After reading today’s prepper quotes article, you’ll be more motivated and more confident in your preps. Why? Because I’m going to share all my favorite quotes related to prepping. You see, I’m a bit of a “collector of quotes” and enjoy dissecting their meaning. That’s why I’ll also share my own thoughts on these quotes (like what they mean to me and why they matter). NOTE: You can either continue to read this article OR just watch the following video (both cover the exact same content): Ok, let’s jump into the first quote.

Teddy Roosevelt

If you’re an American, you already know the sort of man Teddy Roosevelt was. He was the 26th President of the United States and was an avid hunter, explorer, and adventurer. He also obviously understood the extreme value of being prepared with the following prepper quote:
1. “Make preparations in advance … you never have trouble if you are prepared for it.”
It’s a simple short quote that hits you directly in the face. Prepare in advance or prepare for trouble – you choose.

George S. Patton

George S. Patton is another famous American who’s known as an exuberant and triumphant WWII general. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that some of the most successful historical generals understood the power in preparedness. It’s a job where your preparedness (or lack of it) is continuously being tested. War generals have ACTUAL skin in the game, where preparedness can mean the difference between success or death. Here’s Patton best quote related to being prepared:
2. “Prepare for the unknown by studying how others in the past have coped with the unforeseeable and the unpredictable.”
Of course, the future is unforeseeable and unpredictable, especially disasters and rare Black Swan-Type events. This includes wars. That’s best war generals are obsessed with the tactics and strategies of past generals. It’s all about mental preparedness, like playing a deadly game of chess. You can only become a master if you analyze the past champions, why they moved when they did or how they got fooled by their enemy. The bottom line is Patton understood the immense power of preparing for the unknowable future.

Carl Sagan

Carl Sagan was best known as an astronomer, planetary scientist, cosmologist, astrophysicist, astrobiologist, author, and science communicator. Now, I have no idea if Carl Sagan was a prepper or not, but this quote of his is sure profound and related to preparedness:
3. “Extinction is the rule. Survival is the exception.”
Carl understood just how amazing it is that we’ve survived to this point. That humans survived long enough to communicate and share our experiences with each other. But we should not just rejoice in that fact; we must continue to be vigilant and ready for the unknowable future. To be resilient to any future disaster and have any hope of continuing to be the exception and not become the rule.

The Holy Bible

Of course, the Bible has several wise quotations about the virtues of preparedness and prudence. The Bible is chock-full of real-world wisdom IF you take the time to read it and understand it. You’ll find much wisdom related to preparedness in the Book of Proverbs. What’s a proverb? It’s a short, pithy truth or piece of advice: Here are three “proverbs” to ponder on:
4. Proverbs 28:19 – “He who works the land will have abundant food, but the ones who chases fantasies will have his fill of poverty.” 5. Proverbs 27:12 – “A prudent person takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences.” 6. Proverbs 21:20 – “In a house of the wise are stores of choice food and oil, but a foolish man devours all he has.”
So, as you can tell, all three of these biblical quotes are related to working hard, being prudent (especially when times are good), and curbing your human appetites by storing some of your foods and treasure for the future.

Stephen King

Stephen King is one of my all-time favorite fiction writers. He intertwines deep and complex characters with intriguing, mind-bending circumstances. He’s known for such books as: The Stand, The Shining, IT, Needful Things, Carrie, Salem’s Lot, The Dark Tower Series – to name a few. I believe Stephen’s got one of the best imaginations in the world, so when he speaks of preparedness, I listen:
7. “There’s no harm in hoping for the best as long as you’re prepared for the worst.”
What’s really interesting is if you flip the logic of the quote. It’s essentially saying that if you avoid preparing for the worst, there’s actual harm in hoping for the best. Let THAT sink in for a minute… The harm is in foolishly and blindly relying on hope instead of preparedness first. Only after you’re “ready” is the idea of hope (peace, prosperity, etc.) harmless.

Spencer W. Kimball

Spencer Kimball was an American business, civic, and religious leader in the 20th century. He was the twelfth president of “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.” Of course, the Ladder-Day Saints are known for taking preps seriously. So, it’s not surprising to find the following prepping quote from one of their leaders:
8. “Preparedness, when properly pursued, is a way of life, not a sudden, spectacular program.”
This quote gets to the heart of what I call “Living A Resilient Life” It’s not something you do in a flurry and then abandon. It’s a way of life; it’s something you work on little by little over time by building up your stockpiles, your skills, and your knowledge every day. If you’re interested in learning more, check out “The Resilient Life” it’s a community of folks working on their own preparedness journey. It’s a program that teaches, motivates, and allows you to track your preparedness progress.

Benjamin Franklin

Benjamin Franklin is full of pithy one-liners. They are common sense wisdom summed up clearly, concisely making them easy to remember. So, if you ever come across someone who thinks “preparedness” is for wackos, then bust out the following quotes to shut them up:
9. “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” 10. “By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.” 11. “When the well is dry, you know the worth of water.”
It amazes me just how much wisdom is in such few words. He understood the value of preparedness and conveyed it in a way that ended all counterarguments. Essentially, being prepared, being resilient is a wise way to live.

Abraham Lincoln

The next preparedness quote is from the 16th President of the United States – Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln was known as one of the best American Presidents for guiding a nation through a civil war and all the turmoil that comes with it. He was a humble man who grew up in extreme poverty. But those early years and struggles taught him the value of self-reliance, hard work, and preparation. For example, he once said:
12. “Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe.”
In essence, given any challenging task, he would spend the majority of his time preparing for it rather than doing it. He understood the immense value of preparation – how it can often lead to better results with less effort. Work smarter – not harder – great for prepping as well as all sorts of challenges in life.

Bob Knight

Bob Knight, you either love him or hate him. He’s known for being one of basketball’s most successful and innovative coaches. He led the Indiana men’s basketball team to three NCAA championships, one NIT championship, and 11 Big Ten Conference championships. And if you follow college basketball at all, you know he had anger management issues and even famously threw a chair onto the basketball court during a game. But as far as preparation goes, he also said:
13. “I don’t believe in luck; I believe in preparation.”
Or you make your own luck by preparing. Heck, if luck does happen to fall in your lap, you can only take full advantage of it IF you’re ready for it. Otherwise, it’s more likely you’ll fritter away the good fortune, missing a great opportunity.

Alexander Graham Bell

Alexander Graham Bell was a Scottish-born inventor, scientist, and engineer credited with inventing the telephone. He also co-founded AT&T in 1885. By all measures, he understood the value of hard work and dedication, as well as preparedness. He famously said this prepping quote:
14. “Before anything else, preparation is the key to success.”
If you want success in ANYTHING, you must prepare for it. He was talking about “success” in general and not necessarily “prepping,” but the idea applies. If you want to be resilient and survive any future obstacles, you must prepare ahead of time. BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE.

John F. Kennedy

John F. Kennedy was the 35th President of the United States. He served at the height of the cold war, and the majority of his work dealt with tensions between the Soviet Union and Cuba. And he understood the value of preparedness with the following prepping quote:
15. “The time to repair the roof is when the sun is shining.”
He’s absolutely right. The time to prepare is NOT after the disaster has arrived. AFTER is too late. I witnessed this firsthand as the Covid-19 pandemic arrived in the United States. By the time EVERYONE was freaking out, survival gas masks, water containers, freeze-dried food supplies, medical supplies, etc., were all GONE. AND prices on these critical pieces of survival gear were going through the roof. There is a severe penalty to being complacent when times are calm.

Seneca the Younger

Ok, anyone who’s a member of our survival and preparedness community, “The Resilient Life,” knows I’m a massive fan of the philosophy of Stoicism. It’s an ancient way to live rooted in training to be mentally resilient to all future obstacles and frustrations. It helps to put the challenges and struggles in life into perspective. I think it is the best way to MENTALLY PREPARE for future turmoil. Seneca the Younger was born in 4 BC and is credited with being a significant contributor to Stoic ideas.
16. “Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.”
So luck is NOT random; it’s something that happens to those who put themselves into a position to take advantage of it.
17.  “The person who anticipated the coming of troubles takes away their power when they arrive.”
I love this quote. That’s what preparedness is all about, removing the power troubles have over you. Preparing is ALL about increasing confidence and reducing anxiety NOW and not being “paranoid” being “vigilant.” It’s not a matter IF future turmoil is coming; it’s just a matter of WHEN.
18. “Everyone faces up more bravely to a thing for which he has long prepared himself, sufferings, even being withstood if they have been trained for in advance. Those who are unprepared, on the other hand, are panic-stricken by the most insignificant happenings.”
I love the part about “the unprepared being “panic-stricken” by the most insignificant happenings.” Because preparing not only provides benefits for extreme future turmoil, but it also allows you to put every day “insignificant happenings” in their proper perspective. You become less anxious, worried, and less fragile when you live a resilient life.
19. “It is in times of security that the spirit should be preparing itself to deal with difficult times; while fortune is bestowing favors on it then is the time for it to be strengthened against her rebuffs.”
This prepping quote is similar to what John F. Kenney said. Many modern historical quotes have roots in ancient wisdom.
20. “Set aside now and then a number of days during which you will be content with the plainest of food, and very little of it, and with rough, coarse clothing, and will ask yourself, “Is this what one used to dread”?”
This final Seneca quote is pure Stoicism. You can strengthen your mental resiliency by occasionally abandoning modern-day luxuries. Spend some time eating plain food, fasting, wearing rags, sleeping on hard floors, taking cold showers, etc.

Doing this does three things for you:

  1. First, it makes you realize that living without extreme luxuries is not as TERRIBLE as you make them out in your mind. Sure, it’s not ideal, and it’s a bit uncomfortable, but not something to dread and fret about continuously.
  2. Second, it also helps you APPRECIATE and ENJOY these luxuries more. It sorts of like cleansing your “luxury” palate. You feel more bless and have more gratitude towards the basic amenities in your life.
  3. And third, you can’t be grateful and angry at the same time. The more gratitude you feel, the happier person you are. In my opinion, gratitude is the ultimate secret to happiness.

Marcus Aurelius

Marcus Aurelius was the Roman emperor from 161 to 180 and is considered one of the most famous students of Stoicism. His journals have survived, and we get a glimpse into his daily mental challenges and stoic practices. Here’s one of his best prepper quotes:
21. “The art of living is more like wrestling than dancing, in so far as it stands ready against the accidental and the unforeseen and is not apt to fall.”
I think what he’s saying is that to “live a good life,” you must always stand ready against the accidental and unforeseen. And this is more like wrestling (via hard work and dedication) than dancing (having fun). Or perhaps he’s saying – it’s better to invest in prudence first, then to relax and enjoy life, instead of the other way around.

Howard Ruff

Howard Ruff was a financial advisor and author. He wrote such books as “How to Prosper During the Coming Bad Years” and “Survive and Win in the Inflationary Eighties.” Howard understood how important it is to prepare for the unknowable future and how history is full of tumultuous times. He sums it all up with this prepping quote:
22. “It wasn’t raining when Noah Built the Ark.”
Before hearing this quote, I’d never thought of Noah’s Ark Story in that way. But much of the wisdom in the Bible is not spelled out explicitly. You must “read” between the lines to unlock the immense wisdom within. Noah’s Ark is more than just about preparedness, but trust and preparing are big underlying themes.

Chinese Proverb

Next is another proverb, but instead of the Bible, it’s an ancient Chinese one. Because living a resilient life and preparing is NOT just a western idea. Its roots can be found in all ancient philosophies. That’s more proof that it’s one of the BEST ways to live.
23. “Better to light a candle than to curse the darkness.”
It’s so true. And it reminds me of another quote by Teddy Roosevelt:
“Complain about a problem without posing a solution is called whining.”
When you find yourself in a difficult situation – cursing is less than worthless. It’s pathetic. And here’s the deal, you can only light a candle in the dark IF you have a candle and a flame. That’s preparedness; that’s doing something about future turmoil BEFORE it arrives. first on Skilled Survival.

Pelosi Trashes Trump Supporters as “Cult” Members During Moderated Conversation in UK Ahead of G7 Speakers’ Meeting (VIDEO)

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) traveled to the United Kingdom this week ahead of the G7 Speakers’ meeting, which begins Friday in Chorley, England.

“It is a privilege to join my G7 colleagues in the United Kingdom to discuss a top priority for legislatures and governments across the world: how to balance security and openness, particularly in light of challenges from the coronavirus pandemic, cyberthreats and terrorism,” said Speaker Nancy Pelosi. “Public access to the workings of government is a cornerstone of democracy, and it is therefore imperative that parliaments and legislatures remain as open and transparent to the public as possible. We need to hear from – and be accountable to – those we are privileged to represent, as we work to deliver results in their lives.”

Pelosi participated in a moderated conversations in London prior to the G7 meetings.

The Speaker trashed 100 million+ Trump supporters as “cult” members as she rambled incoherently about guns and climate change.

Pelosi also said the GOP is bad for America during her trip abroad.

Democrats Come Out Against COVID Vaccine Mandates for Illegal Migrants

6,000 illegal aliens from several countries wait under a bridge this week in Del Rio before they are dispursed by Biden officials across the US.

House Democrats rejected vaccine mandates for illegal aliens this week during the House Judiciary Committee hearing.

Democrats voted unanimously to reject vaccine mandates for illegal aliens.

Lasat week the Biden White House confirmed that illegal border crossers would not be forced to take the vaccine.

They pretend this is science. reported, via Pro-Trump News.

House Democrats rejected a plan this week that would have required immigrants to the United States to take one of three available Chinese coronavirus vaccines despite mandates on American citizens from President Joe Biden’s administration.

Last week, Biden ordered that the Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) develop a rule requiring all private companies with 100 or more employees to mandate the vaccine or be subjected to weekly coronavirus tests.

Biden also ordered the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to require vaccines for all health care workers who work at facilities receiving federal Medicare or Medicaid funding.

As Breitbart News reported, Biden has seemingly not imposed any such vaccine requirements on border crossers, illegal aliens, legal immigrants, or Afghan refugees who are arriving in the U.S.

During a hearing for the Democrats’ $3.5 trillion budget reconciliation, Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) proposed an amendment that would require the vaccine for foreign nationals in the U.S. who are seeking to adjust their immigration status to remain in the U.S.

Every Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee opposed the vaccine mandate for immigrants while every Republican supported the measure.

Differences Between Bushcraft and Survival Knives…

Picking the right knife for your purposes is almost a rite of passage in prepping. A simple knife is going to be one of the most commonly used and most important tools you’ll have to rely on in a survival situation, and it will be called on to help you complete all kinds of tasks. Two kinds of knives that are often mentioned in the conversation are bushcraft and survival knives.

So what are the differences between bushcraft and survival knives?

There really isn’t much of a difference when comparing bushcraft and survival knives. They’re both capable of tackling all kinds of tasks around camp, in the field, or on the trail. Both can easily handle typical functions when you need to create a shelter or process wood for building a fire.

If you really wanted to split hairs you might say that a survival knife includes a survival kit or survival supplies with it, typically stashed on the sheath or within the handle of the knife, but this is far from a rule.

Instead of getting down to the nitty-gritty and trying to pigeonhole a knife into one category or another based on nearly meaningless differences, your time would be better spent learning what characteristics make for a quality bushcraft or survival knife.

Either one will definitely do the trick when you are in a survival situation! In the rest of this article will provide you with some guidance for choosing a good one.

Essential Features of Bushcraft and Survival Knives

Before we begin, you must keep in mind that any given survival tool might be optimized for a certain survival situation.

Survival in the desert looks very different from survival in a forest, though the survival necessities- air, shelter, water, food- remain the same. Understanding this, a knife that is optimized for one environment might not be ideal for another.

Most bushcraft and survival knives are created with the idea that the person carrying and using it will be in an area where trees or other tough plants that require processing can be found. This assumption informs their design.

As a rule, survival and bushcraft knives are both solidly built, usually featuring thick and chunky blades with flat, squared-off spines.

Emphasis is placed on edge retention more than geometry that will support a screaming sharp edge. The reason these knives are so stout is so they can stand up to the typical tasks asked of them in a survival situation.

One hour they might have to notch out wood to help you with shelter creation. The next hour they will be repeatedly pounded with a branch to baton through small logs in order to create firewood.

This, as you probably already know, is very harsh treatment for any tool, and especially a knife. Not all knives will hold up or will hold up for any time to such treatment.

Treating a common folding pocket knife this way is liable to destroy it in short order, or at the very least create dangerous amounts of play in the action. Any survival or bushcraft knife worth the name will easily withstand such heavy duty use.

The point design of a survival or bushcraft knife is an area of considerable variability, since most of these tools are edge driven, not point driven.

The classic clip point is popular as are drop points, spear points and hybrids thereof. The point is still not an afterthought on such a tool because it will be used for shallow drilling, scoring, engraving and more.

Some survival or bushcraft knives might emphasize a point design capable of precise detail work, or even skinning game where others will want the strongest point possible for added durability.

The handles of such knives show some variation but typically fall into one of two categories.

Ergonomic handles with prominent finger coils are popular, as they afford maximum control no matter the task and also provide assurance that the user’s hand will not slip on to the edge in times of maximum exertion.

Other popular options are more traditional round or oval handles that are least likely to create blisters or hotspots during the most heavy-duty chores.

One design choice that rarely varies no matter what kind of knife you are buying is the handle texture. Survival or bushcraft knives typically provide handles with a modicum of grip since perspiration, water or even blood could impede one’s grip.

However, as a rule they will rarely feature the most aggressive textures or treatments compared to tactical or fighting knives because these will once again promote blisters far too regularly.

Again, there is no “standard” survival or bushcraft knife. Various schools of thought and design exist for this category of knife and the need to “create a better mousetrap”, thus selling more knives, is a constant for manufacturers and designers.

Serrations on the blade are a love it or leave it feature for most knife owners. It remains so when considering these knives. Situations are definitely helpful for cutting through tough, fibrous materials both natural and man-made.

They can make sure rope, paracord and nylon webbing alike while keeping your primary edge in good shape for other jobs.

Periodically you will also see a bbushcraft or survival knife with a wickedly serrated spine or even proper saw teeth.

This is intended to give the user the option of cleanly cutting through wood or other materials. This idea has some merit, but should you need to genuinely saw through something you are much better off using an actual saw for the purpose.

These features significantly increase the chances of snagging the knife and can make pulling it free from something very difficult. Think hard before committing to full-length spine serrations or a sawback spine.

What about the Survival Kit?

A knife specific survival kit is a contentious topic among preppers. On one hand, having survival supplies as part of a dedicated package with your knife means if you have the knife you will have a few additional tools and supplies that are genuinely valuable in a survival situation.

On the other hand, some preppers believe they are extraneous, wasteful and just take up room and space considering you are likely only carrying a dedicated survival or bushcraft knife when you are heading into a potentially dangerous situation.

Both ideas have merit, but if I were to provide you with any caution on the subject I would warn you against choosing any cheap survival knife that features a flimsy handle that unscrews, or otherwise opens to a small compartment where survival supplies are stored.

These knives, as popularized by the Rambo series of movies, are rarely made to anything approaching an adequate standard of quality and many of them are novelty items at best.

If you have to have a knife with an onboard stash of survival supplies you are far better off to get one where the survival items are stored in the handle securely beneath the scales which are bolted or screwed on.

Far and away the best way to incorporate a survival kit with a survival knife is simply by storing the additional supplies on an oversized sheath that has pockets and pouches for the purpose.

Call it a bushcraft knife or call it a survival knife, knives that fit into this category are more or less identical, unless you want to really split hairs and declare that survival knives always include a survival kit or other supplies.

Despite the presence or lack of any accessories the build and function of knives in this category is broadly identical.
